Stretching Flexible Left Leg? en>fr fr>en By caitydancerr Comments: 32, member since Thu Oct 27, 2011On Sun Nov 06, 2011 01:10 PM
This may seem a big strange, but I'm my left leg is more flexible. I can always do a left split without even having to stretch at all, but with my right leg I have to stretch for a bit before going into a split. Most dancers I know are more flexible on their right leg...I don't know why I'm reversed!
But when it comes to leaps I'm better at my right! I can do it almost perfectly straight! My left leap isn't as good, for some reason I can't jump off as well...And for pirouettes I'm better on my left!
Does this seem weird? Anyone else like this? 4 Replies to Flexible Left Leg? |

Yep. My left split has always been much better than my right. But my right leaps are better. I always assumed that was because we focused more on right leaps in class. |

My right split is more flexible than my left. It's not really that uncommon to be lopsided. |

I'm also a lefty when it co es to flexibility. I found that for group dances where the majority favored right, I had to stretch twice as much on my right to keep up. It was a good thing though as it evened me out a bit more, but to this day I still favor my left leg for flexibility when I have the choice! Everyone is lopsided, but it does feel like ther are fewer of us lefties out there! |
