I did Day 1 ladies! They have the workouts on a YouTube channel called BeFit so I pulled that up on my TV through my Playstation and gave it a go. I used 5 pounds weights which were heavier than I expected! I might have to go with 3 pounders for a few days until I build a bit of strength.

The hardest parts for me:

- The cardio. I really had to fight to not stop during it.
- I have a sore knee so I had to take the lunges really shallow (must see physiotherapist)
- My weights were quite heavy.

The good parts:

- I am quite strong in my abs so I found that to be slightly easier than the rest of it.
- I liked the warm-up and stretch afterwards.
- I liked all of Jillian's motivational comments.

I have tendonitis in my ankle, the lunges in level one flare it up every time. I've never made it through a full 30 days because of it. :/

Yeah definitely take it at whatever weight seems good to you--there's one move in level 2 that, even after finishing the full 30 days, I still use 3-pounders on. Another thing you can do is use different sets for different moves to kind of "transition" yourself up: use heavier for the easier moves and lighter for the hard ones until you can do all heavy.

^ That looks exciting! I went to the website (jillianbodyrevolution.com) and signed up for an email notification when it's released. Looks like it might be right about the time I'm done with my 30 day rotation.

Speaking of, Day 2 was harder than Day 1! Maybe it's because I went to dance class last night on top of it but my quads are super unhappy with me right now. Oh well, they better get used to it. I'm definitely going to need 5 pounders sooner than I thought. I don't remember what but there's one movement in there that I really feel is too easy for me, even in the second round of the movement.

Tomorrow is No More Trouble Zones. I haven't even watched it yet so I have no idea of what to expect other than I need to block off closer to an hour than a half hour for that one. Here's to not having to be at work until 8 am tomorrow. ;)

^^I saw that the other day. I was kind of toying with the idea of P90X after getting through some Jillian, but I've heard that that's an hour-hour and a half of working out, every day, for 3 months. That's a lot. What I've heard about this program is that the 15 workouts you get are only about a half-hour long, so I might look into it once it comes out, depending on how expensive it is. That seems easier to commit to for the long haul.

And this morning I'm sitting here itching to work out, but the back muscle I injured is still misbehaving. I'm just scared of messing things up worse, so I guess I'll lay off today and re-evaluate tomorrow.

We were actually talking about p90x last night at lyrical. It's an awesome workout, and no question, it gets results. But you turn your life over to it. It's an hour to an hour and a half of working out, then you have to drink a protein shake within 30 minutes of working out, then it's another hour before you can eat anything. By the time you add three hours dedicated to working out onto a full work day, work and p90x were pretty much all you did that day. :/

I'll get to that, eventually, haha...

I just finished Day 2 *pant*.

Today I woke up with mostly my arms and shoulder hurting with a little bit of stiffness in my legs and bum. I had to do it this morning because I have a three hour college class this afternoon and then I got straight to family dinner and work afterwards. So, my workouts were not as far apart as I would have liked but the point is that I turned on the TV and did it! I don't have lighter weights so I still did it with the 5 pounders. For the exercises with weights that are harder for me I ended doing some if them at half time so I didn't do as many reps. I saw that my technique was getting sloppy by the second strength round so I thought I was better off to do that. Again, I'm super proud I got through all the cardio without stopping, with the exception of having to do up my shoelace during butt kicks, haha.

www.youtube.com . . .

That's the link to the YouTube channel I mentioned. It has lots of Jillian workouts and TONS more. I think I might try another one of here that doesn't have weights tomorrow or maybe try something different. I tend to get bored or the same stuff but I'll still be proud if I can workout 30 days in a row.

I went through the SAME thing on day 3. :P You're 30-day-shreddin' level 1 like nobody's business...then NMTZ comes along and rains on your parade. But it gets better :) By the 3rd (or so) time you make it to NMTZ in the rotation, it feels much easier.

I worked out this morning after 2 days off, doing BFBM. For some reason my body was being unusually resistant; I can usually finish BFBM without a ton of difficulty (it even feels good at the end), but today I had to switch it off in the middle of circuit 6. For whatever reason I was so tired I was actually feeling nauseated. Back muscle seems ok; still not feeling quite on, but it's getting there.

NOW I can do those final 10 days. Hopefully. :P

Hmm, the body revolution thing looks good. I might have to look into that when it comes out.

I had kind of wanted to try P90X but there was just sooo much equipment needed and I don't like the long workouts and I don't like Tony much. This is looking exciting.

I recently started doing Ripped in 30 videos. I don't do it like it's supposed to be done every day (I tried with 30DS and ended up having knee problems before the second level and I got soooo bored) so I'm doing Ri30 roughly every second day (or planning on it) and also doing boxing on the Wii with weighted hand gloves.

How's everybody doing? I'm hanging with Bob - I'm getting alot of "Woah, skinny!"s, so I guess that means good things. Monday is the start of my second full week (I usually start on a Sunday or Monday, I didn't want to wait, so I started on a Wendesday, lol...), I'm stoked, I feel good.

I'm also running a little science experiment today. I've been following the calorie recommendation from The Biggest Loser book I've got, and my weight is just stuck. I'm maintaining, which is good, but I'm stuck.

I checked Livestrong, and they said I need about 400 calories a day more than what I'm eating, for my activity level. So I ate to the Livestrong recommendation, we'll see what happens.

We've also upped my thyroid meds, we'll see how that works out too.

That's awesome! Sounds like you are doing great. Sometimes upping your calories when you hit a plateau helps.

I am still anxiously awaiting for the Body Revolution to arrive. I'm stalking the UPS guy. I started a new blog just for Body Revolution.

thebodyrevolutionexperience.wordpress.com

It's blank for now, but once I start BR I will be blogging through each Phase.

^Yeah, I'm hoping. Every calorie calculator I checked gave different numbers, but they were all 300-500 calories higher than what I'm eating now. So maybe that'll be enough to pop me out of my plateau. I was hoping to lose five more pounds before my birthday, I don't have much time left! :D

I've had to revise my goal a bit, which I'm surprisingly okay with. After doing those first 2 days with the heavy weights I had to take 3 days off. I did it again with a combo of heavy/light weights on Saturday night and that went much better. I just did it for the 4th time this morning with the combo of weights again and I can say that certain things are getting easier. I do the modified push up and I can feel my form getting better and like I'm able to do more reps the second time through them. The cardio is also getting easier, I don't know if that is from actually gaining strength or if it's just mentally easier because I know I've done it 3 times before, so I can do it now! You know?

Either way, my new goal is to just do it a minimum of 3x per week right now. There are some days where it is nearly impossible to fit in. The words day is the day I do my weekend job cleaning two offices. That is my workout for Sunday's, believe me, haha.

So, that was the 1st workout of the week and I just have to do it twice more (minimum) by Sunday night.

*WARNING*

I just wanted to give everyone a fair warning on The Body Revolution program by Jillian Michaels. I ordered this last Thursday, along with several other people. They were completely out of stock with less than 48 hours. They will not take any additional orders to my knowledge as it is on back order.

There have been so many problems and you can read about it on her facebook page. There was an option to do 4 monthly payments or pay for the amount in full. Several people who chose monthly have been billed in full. Several people have been DOUBLE CHARGED and JM customer service states they cannot give them a refund because the 'truck is already loaded' (but the product doesn't ship for 2-3 weeks) and that they have refuse one of the shipments and once it is returned then, and only then, will they give them a refund.
My order has been cancelled by mistake twice now. I have called both times and informed them of it and the first time they re-activated my order and then this last time they said they would have to do a whole new order for me (which I assume puts me on the back order list which is bullcrap when I was one of the first who ordered!).

So yes, you have been warned.

I've got a raging sinus infection right now. This is gonna make working out a little tricky, hah. I didn't yesterday, but I gotta today. I can't take 10 days off, or however long it'd be before I got better. :/

^Heh. I wish I could avoid taking 10 days off, but it seems like that's what I'm going to have to do at this point. :/

I originally bothered a muscle in my lower back a week and a half ago. I took 3 days off, and tried working out again (BFBM--no weights or anything!!!) and even just that made it flare up again. FINE--I took another 4 days off. It felt better, so I did a segment 30 day shred. Bad idea: it's hurting AGAIN. I'm thinking that I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and wait it out, 7 days, 10 days, whatever it takes.

This is really bumming me out. Finally I've found a way of working out that I can actually get excited about, not have to drag myself through each time. And I've gotten better, more visible results with it than anything else I've tried so far! And then I get hurt. :P Even though it's a minor injury, it's just annoying. I have a big vacation coming up a little more than a month from now, and I'm losing workout time. Now even jogging makes my stupid back hurt. :(

^Do you have insurance to go to a doc? Seems like you've been messing with this muscle for a long time. :/

So I called the doctor, and was like "Please, you have to help me!" They basically were like "Yeah, sucks to be you..."

So I'm gonna flush it out. I'm working on my second bottle of water of the day, which is a new feat for me. Usually I don't get in this much water this soon in the day. :/

Hope both you ladies are feeling a lot better soon.

Summer, how about just doing some low impact exercise like long walks or swimming lengths? It's better than nothing!

^Nope. This is only my second full day with symptoms, she said if I'm not better or well on my way to it by this time next week, call back, otherwise there wasn't much to do but wait it out. For some reason, the nurses at the doctors office James and I both go to don't take kindly to being told that you think you've got sinus problems. They've done it to me and James both - the second you throw the word "sinus" into the conversation, you are going to wait that crap out, even if it kills you.

My SILs doc, on the other hand, you say sinus, and she can't throw antibiotics at you fast enough. Go figure.

Hey T, I just went through a nasty sinus infection and I have a few tips. Hope they help!!!

Drink Airborne every day. Get the effervescent tablets, drop them in a cold 8 oz glass of water. Guzzle it down- done.

You already said you increased your fluid intake- so that is good!

I also like to take some Vicks Vapor Rub and put a thin coating directly under my nose above my upper lip. It's best to do when you don't have to go out in public :). My friend swears by putting Vicks on the bottom of your feet and cover them with socks. Never tried that one!
