Okay, so I got a new blackberry (bold) early in the summer, loved it, and was working fine up until a few days ago. All of a sudden, the longest it can hold a charge is around 5 hours, maybe 6 or 7 if I don't touch it. I used to be able to go for around 48 hours before even getting the low battery warning, and now it powers down with no warning, 6 hours after a full charge. I have looked at all of the blackberry forums and they all say to turn off wifi and bluetooth, which I have, and to make sure you close apps you're not using, which I did. I also turned down the backlighting. I'm just at a loss, and really need it to last longer than half a day. I am already planning on talking to telus (although they're usually less than helpful) but I'm hoping someone (anyone!) will have advice for me! It would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

Take the unit back to the provider you purchased it from. It should still be under warrenty. Probably was just a bad battery.

I have this problem with my Blackberry as well. It was fine when I first got it-- after a few months... it will only hold a charge for a few hours... generally 6-10 hours.

My solution was to get a new battery. Didn't help... it kept not holding a charge for very long. My new solution was to have multiple chargers. I have about three at my house-- one at work where I plug my phone in only if it's dying-- one at the boy's house-- and one in my purse in case I end up at a friend's place or something with a low or dead battery.

I have this problem too. I reccommend turning off the wi-fi as this takes up so much battery power. when you bought the phone, did you charge it for 10 hours? This is a must when buying a phone and is really important as if you used the phone straight away with just a little charge ,this damages the battery. Blackberrys' charge never lasts that long anyway ive found. If worse comes to worse, you can just buy another battery.. Im sure you can get one cheapish on Ebay.

hope this helps.

I think everybody has this problem with Blackberry's. Must just be their battery life. :(

Nobody's alone. I have the same problem. A friend told me to switch off my applications and such, but sometimes the battery goes from full to completely empty in a matter of 6-7 hours, without me surfing or mailing or texting much at all.
That same friend also carries a charger everywhere he goes and has once in the office, the car, the locker, the home.. you get the idea. I also have a spare battery in case I can't charge

Don't think we can escape this one.

I've had two Blackberries and the battery has been distinctly unimpressive on both - must just be a Blackberry thing.
