I am just curious as to when everyone met the love of their life. Maybe you met them and are still together today... perhaps you met them and were with them in the past but are no longer together right now... or maybe you KNOW they are someone special but you aren't with them yet?

For my own vote, I truly fell in love with someone when I was 22. I seriously believed that he was my soul-mate. We aren't together now, so I guess he wasn't the love of my life. But he was definitely the love of my early 20's, lol. So in the end I will vote "haven't met him/her yet".

I was 17, just about to turn 18. We've been married for just over two years now.

I was somewhere around 17 or 18 when I met my now-husband. We started dating when I was 21, got engaged and then married when I was 29.

I'm currently 22, have not met him yet. Totally fine with me, though I do hope to be in a committed relationship/married by my late twenties.

I was twenty years old. Still madly in love after thirty-one years. Madly. Sigh.

I was 16 1/2, she was 15 1/2 and we were in high school. We were an "item" three days after we met and have been together without a break in the relationship for almost 53 years. We were married slightly over 46 years ago after both of us had our college degrees.

23, and haven't him yet, and honestly, I'm not OK with it, but I haven't been Ok with it since I was 19. Hopefully 24-25 will be my lucky year. I haven't really been seriously looking though, I think once I'm done with school things will work out better in that department. Right now I'm in a relationship with grad school lol.

I was 21 when I met Mark, only a few weeks off turning 22. We're not married yet and probably never will be, but he's my number one guy.

Mete Peter when I was 25, married at 28 and now been together 17 years.

I had to go through about 6 duds before I met him, though, which made it easier to recognise him when he came along....

I met him when I was 19 turning 20. WOW did he rock my world and totally mess it up all at the same time. I was so psychologically damaged from him, but learned so much and was romanced like nobody else has ever romanced me, and he's the reason I moved to Phoenix. He bet me that I'd never leave my safe small little town. He hoped that would inspire me to move where he was, but it pushed me in another direction completely. Honestly, he will always have a place in my heart...probably because he broke it so many times, but there is part of me that still loves him...and I can still feel that pain even though it has been 14 years since I last saw him.

Met him when I was 22 although we didn't actually get together until I was 25. We've been together for just over two years but I know he's the one. we're both hoping that it will be forever, and have discussed marriage, etc although we're not quite there yet.

I thought I met him when I was 15, and dated him from 15-18...turned out it was just infatuation and not true love.

I have trouble with the language "love of your life," "true love," and "soul mate" because they convey an idea so different than the way I think of love. I don't think that there is ONE person or ONE kind of love and the rest are somehow second rate, less ideal... I'm not sure, but I think it's the mysticism of the idea that doesn't sit well with me.

However, in the spirit of the thread I'll say that I really met my fiancé when I was 17 years old, although we had met several times throughout life in different capacities...we just never remembered each other. (For example, I had seen a lot of the shows he had been in, and had been introduced to the cast, before we met and actually talked to each other in a meaningful way.)

I met my current boyfriend when I was 20 years old and I'm 23 now. We've been together for about 2 and a half years now. We talk about marriage seriously all the time and have similar future goals for ourselves and our families so if all goes well I don't doubt that we have a good chance of spending our lives together.

I didnt vote because our circumstances are different. I meet him in high school, dated the first time when i was 23, dated the secong and final time at 28. Married 6 months later.

Was 26 when I met my fiance (husband, 2 weeks from tomorrow!) on DDN.

Met my hubby when I was 19 in 2004, we broke up after 9 months. He found me again over the internet in 2009, we sort of skipped straight into an engagement then and got married October of 2010. Just over a year and we're still going strong

I met my fiance at age 12 during school at lunch and we started "dating" (really, we would go to McDonalds and sit in a booth by the window so my mom could watch us from the car!) at 13. It has almost been 9 years now; we got engaged this past summer and we are planning our wedding. He is my other half, a part of my soul.

I love reading what everyone is posting. So many different stories to be shared and yet some are really similar, too.

We officially met when I was 17, but we actually went to school together 4 years prior (2000km away from where we met) and knew of each other but didn't actually know each other, if that makes sense! At our school we had a very dodgy PA system, and we had surnames beginning with the same letter so we'd often end up at the school office together after not hearing clearly who the message was for! So we technically "met" when I was 12. If it wasn't for all the funny little coincidences we probably never would have really spoken to each other let alone fallen in love!!
