(didn't want to hijack LLD's post about Teresa's pressies)
So what are you buying for your kids this Christmas? Thought we could share and maybe swap ideas Have your kids asked for anything in particular? Do they still believe in Santa Claus? Do you buy loads or just a few presents?
I'm buying Charlie this - www.very.co.uk . . .
The kid's got an obsession with cameras! He is always using my digital cam and I'm frightened he'll drop it so this seemed perfect. Plays games and puts funny add-ons onto the pics as well.
He's also getting this - www.very.co.uk . . .
I like the sound of this, its like an e-reader for kids. We read a lot, and I won't let this replace real reading time with real books, but I think it'll be good for him to play on whilst I'm busy or we're in the car.
Other than that, he's not getting much more off me. A few more toys and bits, but mainly clothes, pj's, winter boots that he desperately needs and practical stuff like that. I leave the toy buying to my mum and dad who like to buy him toys and books.
Charlie is very excited for Christmas, and at 5 years old believes in Santa.

James is probably getting a touch pad from Jim. There are some you can get for the same price as the kids versions, and they play Angry Birds, and real stuff James is more interested in, so we'll do that.
I don't know what I'm getting for him.
The thing I'm most excited for for him is that my mom is going to sign him up for gymnastics. He's wanted to take gymnastics for forever now, and I could never find a class that fit into our schedule and wasn't unreasonably expensive. $150 a month is reasonable if you're going to the Olympics maybe, but if you're just a kid that wants to give it a try, then no, that's absurd. :/
At any rate, my mom agreed to sign him up for gymnastics classes. He asked for mostly board games and race tracks, which is all well and fine, but what it really amounts to is giving him a new way to sit inside and play with me and Jim, and that's not cool, he needs to be out, interacting with other kids his age. :/ So I'm pretty jazzed for that.
I actually don't know what else he's getting. The only reason I know what my mom is getting him is because she Black Friday shops, so you gotta set it up with her in advance, and Jim has been scouting the deal sites for moths, trying to set up what he was getting. |

Ah gymnastics that is so cool! Charlie would love that. I'm actually looking for a class to get him started in whether it be football, karate, gymnastics. He comes dancing with me sometimes but he doesn't really like it lol. He'd rather play on the playpark that is attached to our hall where we practise.

I'm getting quite excited about Christmas as Tim's neice will know what's going on a bit more this year (she's two in February). I'm getting her the new Now That's What I Call Disney compilation cd even though I'm morally opposed to noisy toys for kids, and I think Tim's sister has a little list of things she wants to get for her. Christmas is SO much more exciting when there's a kid around! When she's a bit older and understands the Father Christmas thing it'll be even better. |

^Yeah, she's not going to understand all that much. James didn't really get Christmas until he was three. All he understood at 2 was that people were gonna come over and give him stuff. And he was two and a half at Christmas, so he was a little ahead of your neice in that respect.
Ah gymnastics that is so cool!
I know, I'm so excited! I almost spilled the beans the other day! I did stop myself. When she tells him, he's going to be like "Ugh, what?", but when he actually gets to go do it, he's going to be so excited. The place I found is $100 for three months, which is super reasonable. It's one of the community ed programs in the area, and if he decides he loves it, we'll go in to something more serious next year. |

I know she is getting my wooden dollhouse from when I was a child. She has never seen it. I am completely remodeling it.
Other than that....she wants an Innotab but the reviews are awful so I'm not going to bother. I haven't decided what I'm getting her yet! |

This year has cost me way too much! All my grandkids have got some new clothes and toys and my own kids have got clothes and a few other bits and pieces.
Just to brag a bit, I've finished my shopping and most of it is wrapped whilst I've redecorated 3 bedrooms!!
Just call me superwoman! lol!

I just scored a $199 Blackberry Playbook for my daughter. Kind of a selfish gift in a way because now I can have my iPad to myself!
I also got her one of those inexpensive video cameras (that take video meant for youtube/facebook - I have no clue what they're called). I got that before the Playbook so I might hold off and use it as a gift for something else. Also a selfish gift in a way since she keeps maxing out the storage on my iPhone taking videos of EVERYTHING (yesterday I watched a video of her narrating the putting on of her socks).
I heard that Santa is going to bring her the robotic puppy she wanted. Daddy is going to get her play cell phones that are walkie talkies and a couple of outfits.
I have a few little things for my son. One is an Animal bowling game, the other a turtle that he can sit on and bounce or spin. He is only 1 and has a ton of toys so I think he will get a lot of clothes and winter gear. He wont know the difference at this point - he just likes opening things. |

Louise - Will you please buy ME that Disney CD . . LOL! I love Disney. Tumble the dolls house idea is awesome. She will love that! I've also read horrible reviews of the Innotab. A lot of people who badly reviewed the Innotab said there was a Leapfrog alternative they were getting?? Maybe worth looking into.
JoJo please don't tell me you're finished and wrapped haha! I am the person left on Xmas Eve frantically wrapping pressies.
Jenna - I love the socks video story Your Charlie sounds so cute. She will love the video cam then! And agreed on babies at Xmas, from what I remember my Charlie as a baby spent most of the day looking at opened presents with an un-amused look on his face - then diving into the wrapping paper ha!
I've told a few relatives to get Charlie cartridges for the Storio, so he'll have a few to swap around at first. And the camera was delivered! EEEE! I am having to restrain myself from opening it and 'testing it out' ha! |
