Covered Faces and Judging en>fr fr>en

My comp team is working on a piece that is about metamorphis/celebration of life. I found a costume that would go great with the piece. It's a unitard with a full hood meaning their faces would be covered.

In thinking of this, I am not sure how this would go over with the judges especially since expressions are a big part of performing. I am thinking at some point to have them to unzip their hoods to reveal their faces.

I haven't found another costume that would go well with this piece as of yet. Will probably have something made.

Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

I would think expressions don't just mean facial, but how that is portrayed in the body, movement, and intention. I'd recommend putting the hoods on in practice ALOT to see what they can do with them and how to make the expression seen even with their faces covered. Good luck :)

It would not affect the score. Body language can give the emotions, too.

I saw this at a Comp, and it was very effective. It was a Hip Hop dance, and it made the girls look like boys, with red bodysuits under their costume, including hoods that covered the face. Of course, their body movements were very strong too, but I was surprised at how well it came off, and they did not uncover their faces at all - and it was definitely memorable.
