Hotfix works on almost any fabric it seems, but I don't know about stretchy materials as Irish Dance outfits have no stretch in them.
I found that GemTac works great on all fabrics except (crepe-back) satin where the fabric absorbed the glue before I could put the stones on, leaving a big stain and no stone.
Can't you ask your teacher for advice? Or other dancers in your group? |

Nail glue works well. I always use nail glue when my rhinestones fall off my costumes. |

I use a glue called E6000. You can get it at craft stores. |
