I had too much fun with this dress(as if you guys couldn't tell) But it is nice to have it checked off my "to do list" too much other pre O's craziness around here... Hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving- and good luck to the Dancers off to their O's this weekend! 15 Replies to Finally Finished(insert sign of relief) |

That is just beautiful! I love the detail. Is your daughter dancing this weekend? |

Thanks- NO we are Next weekend(SRO) but I have never gotten a dress Last minute before the O's and It was a huge source of stress knowing it was coming in(per my request) totally un stoned- So it is just a nice feeling to know I don't have to think about that and can focus on all the other things like - Polishing shoes- and taping straps- and packing - and the rest of the laundry list of things that need to be attended to before we leave next tuesday. |

That has to be a HUGE relief! You did such a great job on it- must have taken quite a while! My daughter is dancing for her first time at O's- this weekend in Chicago. Hope your prep for the O's continues to go well! |

Thanks so much- I think about 8-10 hours on this one- I had to wait a few days for some extra stones so I didn't pay attention to how long it took - It is a lot of fun to do and DD helps also so it makes her feel like she has a part in"making" her dress.
Wish your DD the bets of luck for her first O's from us!! Hope you guys have a blast! |

Great job!! One of our dancers got her dress about a week before the O, similarly requested un-stoned since her mom also loves to bling out everything herself. Her mom was still putting crystals on in their hotel room the day before she danced. I saw the stress first hand. Her dress was lovely as is Sabre's! Wonderful job. I wish I had the patience for that. I bet it weighs a ton now. |

Last year a good friend of ours had gotten a new dress right before the O- it didn't fit right and had to get altered soinstead of me getting it the week before I got it at 9pm the NIGHT before the girl danced-(same night as my DD danced) her mum and I stayed up until 4 am but 2000 stones later it looked great on stage that next day (I looked like I had gotten punched in the eyes) but eh ...
AS for the weight- I had another dancer's velvet dress that I had been working on- and MY goal was to keep it under the weight of the velvet dress - which I did- barely;) |

Ah, I love the 'finishing the dress at the O' stories. My mother finished sewing together my first solo dress in the bathroom of our hotel at 4 am the morning that I danced. She had to stitch in the lining so she hung the dress on the shower curtain rod and sat on the side of the tub to get it in. What would we do without all of our dedicated dance mommies? |

This is definitely my favourite of all Sabre's dresses! It is absolutely breathtaking! You did a great job!
As an aside, I hope you don't mind me asking, but how do you pronounce Sabre's name? I've always wondered that, hehe
All the best luck at the O's! |
