Stretching
stretching - ground vs standing vs combo - what do you do each week? en>fr fr>en

i have been doing the same stretch for YEARS with my dancers, and it is one that we did often in one of my favorite classes as a dance major in college...

however, the stretch is done almost entirely on the ground - we nicknamed it the "lazy stretch". it hits all the major muscle groups needed [hurdle stretches, quad stretches, center/second stretches, etc.] but again is done entirely on the floor.

i have had lots of students respond extremely well to this - particularly the adults - but recently had a student claim [viz twitter status of course] that this wasn't "real stretching" which, while i know it isn't true... made me feel uncomfortable.

so my question is what sequence teachers are doing for their intro stretches... do you do both ground and standing stretches? a combination? do you do the same stretching routine every week, or switch it up?

i have never had my stretch technique critiqued before, and while i know this is just a bratty teen's opinion, i still would like to consider other options... anyone?
