Mythbusters I just love Mythbusters! Would you call it a reality show? It doesn't follow people and their story every day in either ordinary or contrived situations. It's more of an informational show. But maybe it's not possible to pigeonhole it. | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? en>fr fr>en By imadanseur Comments: 15029, member since Thu Dec 04, 2003On Wed Nov 30, 2011 06:39 AM
I agree with y'all about Restaurant Impossible. I like Robert Irvine, and I really like his arms and chest. hee hee. I was bummed he got kicked off Next Iron Chef. Anyone watching that? I keep changing who I'm cheering for to win. | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? en>fr fr>en By Jonelle Comments: 3239, member since Fri Jul 25, 2008On Wed Nov 30, 2011 07:43 AM
The only one I consistently watch every week right now is Biggest Loser. And Teen Mom (and Teen Mom 2), when it's on. And, as embarrassing as it is to admit this, I have watched every episode thus far of Bachelor Pad, which is a reality game show featuring past contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. I don't watch either of those shows, though, so I couldn't even tell you why I watch Bachelor Pad.
I used to be addicted to SYTYCD, but this past season I just never really got into it. I think I might be over it. The routines all start to look the same after a while.
I also used to watch Cake Boss and Next Great Baker, but a lot of the situations (especially on Cake Boss) were so ridiculously contrived that I just couldn't handle it anymore. And I used to watch Say Yes to the Dress, but now that I'm married, it's lost a lot of its appeal.
I will watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians at the gym because it always seems to be on when I'm there, and it's better than staring at the walls.
If I'm flipping through channels and True Life is on MTV, I will always stop and watch it.
Other than that, there are just a few random shows that I will sometimes watch if I'm bored and they're on, like Hoarders, 19 Kids and Counting, Toddlers and Tiaras, Supernanny, and X Factor. But like I said, I have to be pretty bored to watch any of those. | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? (karma: 1)

I love Chef Ann, too but I really want Robert to beat her sometime. Just once. And yes, he is pretty yummy looking. He's such a funny combination of mean and funny, softy and tough cookie. I just love that. And he's so spot on about the restaurant problems. I could wax rhapsodic about it a long time!
Love it when he says "What, are you NUTS??"

Robert is one of those guys that my late aunt would say, about, "He can put his shoes under my bed at anytime." LOL
I do like Chef Ann, too, she is cute.
I have watched Dirty Jobs, I also like those survivalist shows, where they show you how to survive in the wild. There are a few and when I get a chance, I watch them, in case I am every stranded on Mount Everest or in the Jungle (yeah, like that will ever happen). | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? en>fr fr>en By panic Comments: 10603, member since Thu Dec 16, 2004On Wed Nov 30, 2011 09:38 AM
Ann looks like an oompa loompa. I like her, but she looks ridiculous - like an even douchier version of Guy Fieri (as if!). That cotton candy weave has got to go.
I can't believe everyone is into Robert Irvine. I mean, I like him on restaurant impossible, but he looks like a frog or a turtle or something amphibious. Butterface.
I watch all the cooking comps(even hell's kitchen which SUCKS)
Project runway (also australian & canadian versions - don't bother)
Dance moms
Toddlers & tiaras
Hoarders
Work of Fart (only because Corinna works for Utrecht)
I also LOVE LOVE LOVE The Soup which isn't technically reality TV, but it's ABOUT reality TV. | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? en>fr fr>en By Dream_chaser Comments: 24006, member since Thu Jul 26, 2001On Wed Nov 30, 2011 09:43 AM
I've seen The Soup. It's the male answer to The View, I guess. I like talk shows, but that's another thread..... hmmm, I will start one. | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? en>fr fr>en By hooray4jj Comments: 1939, member since Sun Jun 20, 2004On Wed Nov 30, 2011 11:03 AM
Wait a minute, ya'll are talking about this guy, right?
I get that his body looks nice, but there is something, off? I don't know exactly what it is, maybe his head is just too small for his body. Or maybe it is that whisk he is holding, a man with those muscles looks silly with a whisk. I don't know what it is, but something about that mans face/head isn't quite right. | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? (karma: 2)

It's not about facial looks, but attitude, that makes a man desirable, but the muscles don't hurt. Besides, you can always put a bag over the head, if it's too small. Now if something else is too small... | |

^Fresh!
It's not about facial looks, but attitude, that makes a man desirable I don't like to toot (or is it tood?) my own horn. But have you seen my face?
Besides, you can always put a bag over the head Double bagger. Put one over his head and one over yours in case his falls off. | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? en>fr fr>en By hooray4jj Comments: 1939, member since Sun Jun 20, 2004On Wed Nov 30, 2011 11:40 AM

I agree unless it comes to people on TV/in the movies. I just assume that they are there for me to look at, so I can say whatever I want about them, cause they aren't real people, right? | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? en>fr fr>en By slice Comments: 802, member since Fri Oct 15, 2004On Wed Nov 30, 2011 11:42 AM
I don't watch as much reality television since I don't get E! or VH1/MTV at my apartment anymore (sad day). But I do enjoy these shows:
Project Runway (though the first 3 seasons to me will always be the best ones)
Keeping Up with the Kardashians (and all it's spin-offs)
America's Next Top Model (again, was better in the first 6 seasons or so)
DC Cupcakes
Jersey Shore

I like to watch Big Brother when it's on in the summer. A lot of my friends watch too so we can discuss it when we're together or have watching parties which is fun! I watch a few of the TLC shows like The Little Couple, 19 Kids and Counting, etc. | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? en>fr fr>en By Dream_chaser Comments: 24006, member since Thu Jul 26, 2001On Wed Nov 30, 2011 01:44 PM
There was one, on TLC, that was about overweight kids at a camp, entitled, "Too Fat for 15". I found that interesting. It was like "Biggest Loser" but not a contest, just the story of the kids and their journey. | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? (karma: 2)

Everything about Robert Irvine is nice! He can cook for me anytime!
And I bet he has a great BIG whisk!

The Restaurant Impossible soup kitchen revamp has been on tonight. It's giving me the warm fuzzies.

I just watched it. That woman is a saint and 80 years old! I am watching the next one, now, too. | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? en>fr fr>en By toroandbruin Comments: 2601, member since Fri Oct 10, 2008On Wed Dec 07, 2011 05:19 PM
So did anybody see on the news today (or on YouTube) the aftermath of the misfired Mythbuster cannonball? I bet they'll change that bit on their program where they say, "Don't try this at home, folks. We're what you call 'professionals'." | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? en>fr fr>en By Caffeine Comments: 2220, member since Wed Aug 08, 2007On Wed Dec 07, 2011 06:11 PM
^ I guess you could say that myth is "busted". | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? en>fr fr>en By hooray4jj Comments: 1939, member since Sun Jun 20, 2004On Wed Dec 07, 2011 07:22 PM
^ well it seems as though their cannon worked better than projected, I don't know the details of the myth, but I am guessing that since it worked they might label it "probable." Hey, at least they had insurance. | re: So, how many of you watch reality TV and if so, what type? en>fr fr>en By AmyJoJo Comments: 2238, member since Wed Jan 14, 2004On Fri Dec 09, 2011 06:18 AM
I don't have a TV anymore, so I don't really watch any shows... but, I used to watch America's Next Top Model religiously. In fact, both my parents were into it too, and Wednesday night was salad/ANTM night as a family. That seems really weird to me now.
I also used to LOVE SYTCD, but I stopped having time to watch it in 2009, I think. Then I heard it was getting cheap, so I didn't even try to catch up.
Now I just watch the Panic Show, here on DDN.

No wonder Lisa didn't look all too thrilled to have won, she was second choice after ghetto Angelea got herself booted!
