I fully intend to play it up, and like I said before, none of them where downright upset about it, they just didnt show the enthusiasm I usually get from that age group when I show them their costume so it was a little concerning to me.

I think I'd like to stick with the song, only because I think it is a beautiful song, and just wont call them Tinkerbell or anything, but that they are beautiful fairies etc. This group of kids/parents is for the most part easy going so I can't see it causing major issues, I just wanted a greater dance communities opinion on when is too old for fairies etc.

Thanks again

I used Fly to Your Heart last year for my junior ballet who were between 6 and 8 years old. The girls LOVED the song, and the costume was similar to what you picked out except it hand a wand and wings, which they loved.

Have they heard the song? Maybe play it for them. My girls weren't too excited about the costume either - I picked green for all of them, but they all wanted a different color lol. When they came in and they got to try it on it was a different story though. It turned out very nice.

I would say stick with it! :)
