So our first competition was this weekend, and lo and behold we show up....and Dance Moms is filming....a few of the parents got a little upset...but all in all, it really was fine. I wont lie...pretty exciting to see them in real life. Theyre adorable, the sweetest kids ever...and SO good...I would assume we will be in background scenes in the episode...all signed release forms...and my kids practically sat in their laps for awards

Are you allowed to give results? Do they give results on the website for the competition, or do they have to wait for the show to air?

LOL we did okay. not great, but it was our first competition....my two tap dances did place in overalls though so i was pretty excited. its my first yeaer with this particular school.

I guess results will be posted,....I mean, there isnt really any way to hide it is there? They didnt tell us anything about NOT saying...Maddie won, makenzie won, and their duet (maddie and chloe) won....

I dont reacall them ever being mean to others on the show. were they? did I miss that? yeah...the kids were super sweet backtage, and signing autographs and wahtnot....they were fooling around with their camera crews which was funny..i fell like after hours and hours with little girls the guys are like, OH MY GOD.

They were certainly mean and nasty to each other on the show.

Sweet! So they are definitely going to be the same dancers for season 2? Looks like they have a new dancer in their group by the looks of the picture. I've been looking foorward to season 2! The dancing/dancers are beautiful.

Yes Kendall. Maddies mom intro used us to her mom but I wasn't really paying attention. She seems nice I suppose. I care more about the dancing

I just visited Abby Lee's company website and Nia has won a few awards/scholarships/titles for this dance season (November). I don't think she left.

We ran into them last year at Starpower in Providence. I found all girls were very well behaved. To be 100% honest though I had a little problem with the camera crew and so did a lot of the parents. They were backstage where they shouldn't have been, pushed my co-owner out of the way backstage when our student was going on stage next and most of all it was really kind of disturbing to see grown men with cameras chasing around little girls who are in little dance costumes. I will be the first to admit that I watch the show and while Miss Abby may be a little intense and unconventional she does produce AMAZING dancers, however to see the camera crews was honestly disturbing. Although I didn't complain to the competition even after the rude encounter backstage I heard A LOT of complaining from other studio owners, teachers and parents being made directly to the competition directors.
