I only just now even realized we had a cars and driving portion of DDN, incredibly un observant i know! But I was in a car accident in September and I had to get a new car, and this is it, its a 2012 Ford Mustang, and I'm in Love with her! I named her Onyx! This is the first car I have ever had in my name and fully owned, my last car, a 2001 mustang (R.I.P Sally) was a gift from my parents when I was 16, so I'm really proud to be able to do this for myself this time!

When the first Mustang was introduced in 1964 in April, just before I graduated from college, I wanted one so badly, but unfortunately it took about 5-6 months to get one and I needed a car right upon graduation to get from my home state to my job in Washington, DC and couldn't wait. I got a dorky used Chevy, a car with so many problems we called it "the Curse." By the time I could get another car (1968), I was married with two kids and a Mustang didn't work for that. Sooooo at your stage of life, this is a perfect car and I'm secretly envious!

Thanks everyone!! I love it, It has the turn by turn navigation, and the sync computer system so i can stream music from my cell phone or ipod and it automatically overrides any music with an incoming call and all music controls are on the steering wheel so i dont have to reach far for anything i need, it even reads me my daily horoscope! All the LED lights can be changed to whatever color combos you want so my car tends to change with my mood! I have been taking excellent care with it as well, I was it and detail it out all the time, and i always park about a billion miles a way from where i need to be in order to ensure no close by parked cars and door dings!! I love it!

QC Dancer, I really Lucked out, my dad works for ford so I got his discount and it so happened they were offering a rebate that month on top of my dads discount, so i used the insurance money, which was more than we expected and some cash i had saved to lease the car but pay the lease in full up front, so i actually don't have a car payment for 2 years. I opened a second savings account and I'm putting a little in each month for 2 years so at the end of the lease i'll just finish paying it off all together!!

Your car is beautiful!! I had a mustang once, but it was a bad bad car with so many problems. I swore I'd never own another one due to all the bad memories of dumping money into it.

This post is making me itch to get a new car. I drive a 2000 Honda and its in good shape and paid off with low insurance cost. OOOOHHHH but fun changing LED lights? Totally jealous.

I love Mustang's and black is a pretty cool colour for one.

Aw, I love mustangs! We own a 1998 mustang right now, but it's been through so much it looks like it's about to fall apart. We've been waiting on it to die before we start looking for another car, but it still runs like a dream. Best car we've had, and when there HAVE been problems, the parts to fix it are pretty inexpensive. Love love love driving it! I bet yours is even MORE fun to drive!

Thank you everyone for all the comments. As a quick update, shes still running and looking amazing, but oh man does she drive different in the snow than my old one. Its a lot harder to maneuver in the snow (yes i know mustangs are notorious for this) but I think its because its more horse power than my other mustang, and the tiers are wider so its just handling differently in the snow. I'm making sure to wash it often to keep the salt off of it as much as possible living in northern Ohio ha-ha.
