Girls Only PG-13 Moving your period en>fr fr>en By Ally Comments: 3102, member since Sun Dec 11, 2005On Tue Dec 13, 2011 03:15 PM
Okay, I switched from Yaz to the three months with no period BC, the off-brand of Seasonique. Turns out after the 12 weeks of active pills, I'm supposed to be on my period the entire week 13, I'm with the boy I'm seeing. This isn't going to work in many ways, like I'll be on a plane, and just really in the way. I've had some brown spotting. But otherwise it's been a good pill. So should I move my period a week up or should I get a new pack and start taking one week then take the placebos the week I get home, or do I just skip the period all together? That's really confusing, but I hope that y'all can understand/help.
Thank you! 5 Replies to Moving your period |

That's completely up to you. If you already know how to make it work using your current BC pills than do whatever you feel is best for your body. Consult with your doctor if you are unsure about the specifics or look in the pamphlet that comes with your pills.
I would think that skipping it all together sounds like the simplest of the three choices. |

I have no clue, This is the first time I've been on the 3-month pill. Like would it be safe to completely skip? I have PCOS and didn't have a period for 2 years. |

I know that for healthy women there is no harm in skipping a period. You, however, have PCOS and I would check with your doctor for how to do this safely.
My BC doesn't allow me to skip periods as I take a low-hormone pill that has 28 active pills per pack that I take back-to-back. |

You should be able to just skip your period. I have PCOS as well and when I was on the pill I skipped my period at least once by just skipping the placebo pills. No harm done. I don't think the PCOS should really affect any of it. It didn't with me at least. |

I know that if I skip my period too many times in a row (and if you skip this one, that'll be 6 straight months), I sometimes start spotting while still on the BC and it'll continue until I get my actual period. It can be really, really annoying. Then again, I'm on the NuvaRing, which is different, plus I don't know if that's just me. But that's the only reason I'm wary of skipping too many periods in a row. |
