Stupid thing to get mad about but,

Last night my parents asked be to take my brother to work (instead of going to Mass - one of them always misses Mass to take him to work), I said yes. My mom asked me if I was going back to sleep afterward, I said yes. She asked if I wanted her to wake me up and what time, I said noon.

I get woken up at two (thirty minutes before I have to leave for a yoga class), my said she never heard me say what time to wake me up. I had stuff to do (nothing incredible important, but stuff I wanted to do before I went)! They went shopping all day. If I had known that I would have set an alarm.

Filed my taxes. My mom was having me do mine on Taxslayer because she thought it would be free like last year. However, I had a 1099-Misc, so it wasn't free because that meant I couldn't do a 1040-EZ. Plus, they charged a fee to do direct deposit. But I am getting a refund, so that's good :)

Still reading Dune. Hoping to read about two hundred more pages before going to sleep tonight. I need to finish it soon because I have a ton of books checked out (and lots that I own) that I need to read.

I was going to go to a yoga class today, but I just didn't feel like going anywhere.

My dad was in Florida all week for a work training thing. He bought me shirt from a restaurant and shell with googly-eyes on in it from another restaurant.

Okay, time to read some more of Dune.

"Dune" was good. The sequel was decent and the next OK-ish but eventually the series sort of petered out.

I think it was "Dune", the original, which had a view of how the future could look if you saw it multi-dimensional.

One sci-fi story I read (not "Dune") portrayed the future laid out sort of like a chess board. The vertical lines, which are what we are used to, had scenes, like frames on a movie film, going forward. And to the right and left on the chess board the frames were the same but slightly different. And the strip next to them, to right and to left, different yet. So you got one story if you moved straight forward and a different story if you took the frames going horizontal on the board, left and right. From any point in time. Well, that's how I had, before reading "Dune" always pictured the future except more like going at an angle, like a bishop on a chess board. An individual's perception of the future, in whichever direction, would go down it sort of like a ripple in a rope. Now that is flat, only 2-dimensional.

The Dune scenario had the future looking like a "billowing scarf". That's understandable. If you have a 3-dimensional chess board, in other words layers up and down as well as to either side, you can go all sorts of ways. And your perception of the most likely futures will be all sorts of paths within that 3-dimensional space. And the path you end up following for whatever reason? Well, that's the only one you definitively see as it unfolds unless you are one of those Navigators in the novel.

Anyway, the first in the series was a decently thought-out book.

I got an email from my boss from the studio I taught Zumba and Ballroom at. She let me go. Two weeks ago I demanded that I get paid something for showing up. She then said that in two week (this week), we'd start my classes up again. She said there wasn't enough interest in the ballroom and she found someone else with better availability for the Zumba.

I think she should have called me instead of emailing. She did say she was going to mail me the money I made from doing that birthday party, so that's good.

I just corrected the grammar on a picture that a 12 y/o shared on FB. I just couldn't stand it. It said "Me and my best friend can communicate with just face expressions." *headdesk* My inner editor just couldn't let that slide.

I love the Dresden series. We stumbled across the TV show years ago, and have been going through the books for the past year. They're fun!

I have a friend that just posted a graphic to her Facebook wall that said "you know it's love when you have been sayings goodbye for how many times but still you're not ready to leave" and no, that's not a typo, it does say "sayings". This lady has a college degree. You're not alone in wanting to correct the bad grammar of the world.

I checked all of the books out from the library. I'm working my way through them, but before I read the next one I have another book I need to read because I can't renew it. Though, helpful thing about working at the library is that I don't get fines. So, I have my stack of Dresden books and a giant stack of other books.

Bad grammar bothers me to no end. Not that I am perfect, but I usually catch errors before I post something online.

My mom wont get off my back about me checking out so many library books. It's ridiculous! She's trying to tell me that I can't check out any more. I am 22 and I work at the library. I can check out 50 books (only have 20 out), I can renew them up to a year and since I am an employee I don't accrue fines. If one of the books has a hold on it I will read that one first (because it is fair the the next person who wants it to read it as quickly as possible). I can read anywhere from 1 to 5 books a week. And my Dad just ratted me out to my mom because I told him the book I am reading (Clockwork Princess) came out this week and I got it the other day (I was on the list for that book for MONTHS).
