I would like my daughter to try these but I can't seem to find a distributor outside of Australia. Has anyone worn these and how do they run? My daughter wears an 8-8.5 in street shoes and has worn Dancewear and Billy Forsyths. Both seem to stretch really quickly (her teacher likes a snug shoe) and develop a "bunchiness" at the toe. She was not blessed with "pretty feet/points" and has to work really hard to maintain a good point. It seems that I am spending a small fortune relacing shoes after every couple of competitions but the extra room at the toe swallows her points!

Have you tried the Hullachan Sadie Simpson ghillies? My daughter really loves them and they have conformed very nicely to the shape of her foot without any loose bagginess at the toe at all. The leather is a little thicker than other brands that she's tried and it really holds its shape well and seems less prone to over-stretching. Another bonus is no more "half point holes" and the ghillies really last.

My daughter has never owned any Dougies so I can't compare the two. What I have noticed is that some brands have not fit her toes as nicely as the Hullachan S.S. right from the start. I find that the Hullachan S.S. ghillie is the right shape for my daughter's foot naturally and immediately fit her better than the style of ghillie with the pointier shaped toe. The thicker leather is an added benefit. Perhaps the shape of your daughter's foot, combined with a ghillie that is not really the best shape for her foot to begin with, is contributing to the problem of achieving a nice fit at the toe. If over-stretching is the only issue, then I would say take a look at the Hullachan for the thicker leather which we have found to definitely hold its shape well.
