Oh, absolutely the Pogues! No contest there.

That, and Merry Christmas Happy Holidays by N'Sync. Don't judge. It's not Christmas until you break out the JT during his frosted-tips era. Amiright?

Do they know its Christmas time - Band Aid. Just love the tune and feel so sad when I hear it as in reality nothing has really changed. People are still dying of starvation

I'm a huge sucker for "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole. Fun fact: The song was reportedly written in the middle of a blisteringly hot summer. Apparently the composers (Mel Torme and someone else I can't remember) wanted to think of Christmas-y things to keep their minds off the heat.

I also really love the original Judy Garland version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," even though it's a bit of a downer.

Not being able to make two choices, I also voted for John Lennon's "War is Over". But if I could have also chosen "Other" I would have done so because it is tied with "We Need A Little Christmas" from "Mame".

For some reason for the old time Christmas carol I like Good King Wenceslas www.youtube.com . . . even though it is about the Feast of Stephen.

My favorite though is Baby It's Cold Outside www.youtube.com . . .

I picked one from out of the ones listed (POGUES FTW!!), because I couldn't possibly choose any one particular song, or even artist, for my favorite at Christmas.

Most sentimental album, however, for me has to be John Denver and the Muppets. I cry listening to their version of Silent Night more regularly than Mannheim Steamroller's.

Anything by The Superions (it's the guy from the B-52's). Warning: NSFC (not suitable for Christmas)

My favorite song by them (couldn't find it on youtube) is "Jingle Those Bells" and it's about getting a drunken Christmas lap dance.

The one by David Bowie and Bing Crosby, Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy, the one by Band Aid, Do They Know It's Christmas, Josh Groban's, Believe, from Mame, We Need A Little A Little Christmas, and Andy William's, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

On the naughty side, it's Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby. I adore her and love her version of this song:

www.youtube.com . . .

On the nice side, I love Have a Holly Jolly Christmas by Burl Ives. It's just so happy and cheerful:

www.youtube.com . . .

For a spiritual moment it's got to be O Holy Night. I love boys' choirs and here is a wonderful young man singing the first verse as a solo:

When I was little my favorite was Angels We Have Heard On High.

I though it was about my cousin, Gloria.

It is still one of my favorites.

It has got to be the Pogues, apperently Shane McGowen makes enough money on royalties for this song every Christmas that hes set for the following year!

Erm, I have a lot and just can't narrow it down, but those might be my top 2! I'm pretty sure that the entire Christmas genre is my favorite music. Ever. In the world.

POGUES POGUES POGUES.

If Mark and I ever lose our minds and get married to each other, that's going to be our first dance song.

I also like Sick Bed of Cuchulainn (also by the Pogues) for this lyric:

"You remember that foul evening when you heard the banshees howl
There was lousy drunken bastards singing billy is in the bowl
They took you up to midnight mass and left you in the lurch
So you dropped a button in the plate and spewed up in the church"

:D

Boozy Christmas everyone!

Erin.

I love The Pogues but not Fairytale.

I lived in Ireland for almost eight years and at Christmas I swear it was played as every other record on the radio there. From being one of my all time favourite tracks it became one that I have a nervous twitch each time I hear it play.
