Injuries I injured my hip a while ago, and now I have burning pain down one side of my leg. en>fr fr>en By YumYumDoughnut Comments: 6576, member since Sat Jul 10, 2004On Sun Dec 25, 2011 10:30 AM
I injured my hip about a month ago, and now I wake up almost every night with my leg feeling like it is on fire.
My BF thinks that sacroiliac (SI) joints are what is causing the pain. I am going to go see a specialist after the Holidays are over. I am not looking so much for advice, but sympathy if anyone else have experienced leg burning. I sometimes have to jump in a cold shower hoping that the pain will go away, but it usually doesn't. It does decrease the pain a bit, but it still hurts.
I also went to a general doctor, and he wasn't much help at all. My BF is friends with a good orthopedic surgeon and a Neuro Physician that I am going to try and get in contact with after Christmas.
The funny thing is, the burning pain is only caused at night in the middle of my sleep. My SI joint feels a bit funny during the day, but I wouldn't refer to it as pain. 3 Replies to I injured my hip a while ago, and now I have burning pain down one side of my leg. |

If it IS SIJ pain, it wouldn't hurt to do some clams and other butt strengthening exercises in the meantime, until you can get it looked at. Good luck finding the answer! |

Do you sleep on your side?
You might need a new mattress or to change your sleeping position for a period of time until your injury is fully healed. |

I have sciatica from a back and hip injury. The best thing for reducing the pain and burning twinge is to sleep with a pillow between your legs, and apply a heat pack to your hip when it starts burning. That and celebrex has helped me immensely. There can be great PT exercises that will help, so if things don't improve soon I suggest you see a physical therapist. |
