Acting "Into The Woods" en>fr fr>en By balletismylife12 Comments: 62, member since Fri Mar 25, 2011On Sun Dec 25, 2011 03:24 PM
Although dancing is my focus, I love to act and often take part in a production when my time commitment to dance allows it. I never expect much of a part because everyone knows that I would skip a rehearsal for a dance class and always tell the casters that before I audition. This year I tried out for the musical "Into The Woods" and landed the part of The Witch. Although I am excited to be honored with such a great character role, I am very critical to the story and it wood be inappropriate to skip a rehearsal for dance class, but it would also be inappropriate to skip a dance class for a rehearsal. I am in a tough situation especially because this casting is final. Any advise? 3 Replies to "Into The Woods" |

especially because this casting is final.
I should think that this would clinch it.

Edited by oz_helen (35388) on 2011-12-26 03:22:33 so many typos
Did you give the panel your availability at the time of audition? And by that, I mean, did you tell them exactly when you are unavailable due to dance? If so, you have nothing to worry about, as they have to work around the commitments: they agreed to do that by casting you. If you didn't tell them, then you will either need to negotiate with the production team, your dance teachers or both to find a happy solution. If nobody will bend, something will have to give.

Dude. You're the witch. That's Bernadette Peters' role. I would kill for that part. You have to do this. |
