I haven't used in a few months. I plugged it in today and it wont work.

I have had it for a year.

Why would this happen? I think maybe some other software of the same brand may have done something to it.

EDIT- Also, my printer stopped working. I believe the software for both is still on the computer.

EDIT2 - I just put by Flash Drive in the USB port and it wont work either. I conclude it must be my USB port. NOOO!Only one of them was working in the first place. *headdesk*

(I'm kind of freaking out about this)

One of them was already broken - Literally broken. Now, the only other one is. I googled. Ran a scan (microsoft fixit thingy). Basically told me it doesn't work and it can't tell me how to fix it.

I am not there to diagnose your computer, but usually the handling is to replace the USB card (small circuit board) or install one in addition to the one you have.
In any event, this is far cheaper than a new computer, and often it provides the bonus of an update.

If you need personal help, look for a Micro Center near your home.

I don't remember all of the details, but I had a USB port stop working so I was all over the internet finding things to try to fix it. One website mentioned that my motherboard, I think, needed to restart, but that doesn't happen when you shut down and restart the computer. It apparently needed to be disconnected from all power for a little while, so I took out the battery, shut down the laptop, and unplugged it for awhile. When I turned it back on later, the USB port worked...may be worth trying before taking it somewhere to replace parts?
