Melbourne Where to buy pointe shoes in Melbourne? en>fr fr>en By tassiemum Comments: 1853, member since Sun May 07, 2006On Wed Jan 04, 2012 06:40 PM
We will be in Melbourne in Feb and have an afternoon to look at some pointe shoes for my daughter. We can only get Bloch's here and I'd like to look at some others. She's in European Balance at the moment and I'd just like to see her fitted in some others.
We're flying in Fri then have a dance comp in Wantirna South on Sat. Possibly staying Keilor East or closer to the comp. I will have a hire car, but don't particularly want to drive too far from the city.
Any help very gratefully received.

I know that the Energetiks store in Essendon does pointe shoe fittings. I don't know how good they are since I'm not en pointe but I've seen fittings done there before. The address is 166 Buckley Street Essendon and google maps is telling me it's about a 20 minute drive from melbourne CBD. Hope this helps |

I found a shop in Nunawading that sells Gaynor Mindens.
What about Freeds or Grishkos? Does anyone have experience with buying these in Melbourne?

Hey Tassiemum,
If you're staying in Keilor, the Southgate Bloch store will be your closest option. Energetiks is nearby in Essendon as another member has already offered, however from my experience as a teacher and a dancer, the Energetiks shoes aren't as flattering and there isn't as large a range as there is at Bloch. If you're willing to travel, Sansha in Glen Eira Rd, Ripponlea.
Good Luck!!

Oh my gosh, I didn't even know those other two stores existed! That's awesome, thank you! |

Thanks, miss_kate.
We're staying closer to the comp in Wantirna now. Ripponlea is in my old stamping ground, so I can get there, no worries.

We went in to the Energetiks shop. We got excellent service from one of the staff and came out with a pair of Grishkos. I would recommend this shop for folk looking for points shoes. They had Energetiks, Grishkos, Freeds and Gaynor Mindens. |

I love the Energetiks shop. Back when I was really little (like, it was probably about 1992), I had a dance teacher who worked at the Energetiks shop, so it was REALLY exciting to go there to buy things and see her, LOL.
It's a great store, and has been there for a billion years. Or, at least 20, LOL!
I am glad you had a good experience too
Erin.
