I really want to try this recipe, but I would like to use fake sugar. (xylitol based).

Completely totally 100% unrelated, but nevertheless, in case you don't already know, xylitol is EXTREMELY toxic to dogs and even a small amount can easily kill them. A Great Dane in my neighborhood recently died from xylitol poisoning. Very sad. |

^ Oh, that is great to know. As you know I have a dog that likes to get into everything so thanks for the headsup. I will make sure not to feed my dog any fruit leathers and throw away the rest ASAP so he doesn't get to it in the trash.
He got into chocolate covered raisins about a month ago and I had to rush him to the vet.  |
