I'm teaching a full-day long lab class for graduate students tomorrow (I'm co-teaching with my supervisor, but he pretty much leaves it to me). I taught this class last year, and have a 12-page long document with intro, protocol etc. to hand out. However, we made a few tweaks to the class this year, and I had to incorporate those into the background section. I feel like what I've written sounds a bit clunky, so I'm not entirely pleased. There's only one paragraph that I'm unhappy with, as there were minimal changes to the rest of the document. However, I worked over 12 hours today trying to get my own experiments done as well as set up for tomorrow's class, so my brain is a bit fried. My fiance is helping out a friend tonight with preparing for a job interview tomorrow, thus he's unavailable to help with edits.

So... if anyone is up for reading a paragraph and suggesting changes, I'd appreciate it. This isn't supposed to be a literary masterpiece, but it does need to be clear. It's quite technical, so experience reading that sort of material will be useful (the target audience is grad students, not undergrads). The catch is that I'll be going to bed within an hour, and I'll need the edits by 8AM tomorrow, eastern time (class starts at 9, and the handout needs to be finalized and printed off by then). If there are any takers, please post here within an hour and I'll send the paragraph in question by PM.

Edit-- forgot to add that the class is part of a Genetics module for the students (in case you couldn't guess from my user name!), but the lab exercise involves a lot of biochemistry and cell biology.
