Emergency Ouch! Just burnt my ear with my hair straightener! en>fr fr>en By SLBdancer Comments: 2068, member since Sat Jul 20, 2002On Sun Jan 08, 2012 12:30 PM
So I am over tired this morning after working overnight and then taking a fitness class this morning and while at the gym, I was straightening my hair with my flat iron when I suddenly clamped it down on my ear by accident. It was only on my ear less than a second or two but because of how hot it was, it blistered and turned red right away. I put cool water on it for a few minutes to help it cool down and lessen the pain, but now is there anything I should or should not do to help it heal and to reduce the pain? 4 Replies to Ouch! If it is badly burned, then to keep it from getting infected and to heal better, I suggest going to a pharmacy and asking the pharmacist about the best over-the-counter medicine available today. Unguentine and Foille are two such medicines used traditionally. But the pharmacist may be able to suggest a more recent creme which incorporates an antibiotic and also some sort of pain killer. |

not sure where you are but Savlon cream or gel is great for burns... its an antiseptic basically so im sure any similar product would do it some good and help it heal quickly. |

Get the burn ointment with silver in it. It will really help. |

Aloe Vera gel? Like the stuff you use on sunburns. I burned my arm on an iron while I was ironing my dance costume, and aloe helped relieve the pain. |
