XBOX 360. How do I connect my Konami Dance Pad? en>fr fr>en

I just bought a Xbox360 Dance Dance Revolution and it came with a Konami Dance pad. I bought it "semi-used" off Amazon.

The dance pad has a circular plug at the end, and there is nothing that resembles it on my Xbox.
I am assuming that it is missing a connector, but I don't even know which connector to get.

I think I may be looking for a "break away cable", but I am not sure.

www.google.com . . .

Does this look like it would be a right product?

^Yup, good work finding it. The XBOX wired controllers and accessories are mostly all the breakaway type. If you have any wired controllers, you can borrow the connector from one of those.

That is the correct product. The usb plugs into the 360 and the round end plugs in to the round on the mats wire. Have fun with DDR!

Where do I buy the product? I tried "gamestop" but they said they don't have it.

I would like to go to an actual store if possible. Radio shack is close to me...and a Target. Do you think either of those places has it?

I'll second Best Buy or even Fry's. If there are any game resale stores in the area you might check there too. If you lived nearby I know the store I work for has them in stock. ;)

I agree, Best Buy. Sometimes Toy-R-Us have things like that, but it depends on what the store gets that certain week.

My brother said you can get those at any electronics store.

Thanks guys. I will take a look at the local Frys and Best Buy tomorrow.

If they don't have it, I guess I will just order one online. I am just hesitant getting something online, because I don't know much about gaming.

Honestly, a breakaway cable is hard to screw up. It's not like you're buying a used game where you run the risk of having it scratched or beat up. A break-away cable is a break-away cable. So long as it's for xbox 360 and not for original xbox you're safe. The difference being that the 360 has a usb end and the xbox has a nubby clear/white oval end.

^ Oh, in that case I will just order it on Amazon.

Was the actual dance mat supposed to come with it? I am tempted to email the seller to figure out why she didn't include the cable. Is it a fact that people are supposed to purchase it on their own? I am new to this whole gaming thing, so I would like to figure out the ins and outs.

Originally it would have come with it. Contact her definitely. Because depending on how the ad was listed, she sold you something you couldn't immediately use. I might have been an oversight on her end, but maybe not. Depending on how she responds you can write a negative review. If it was an honest mistake, sure. But if she's being douchey and selling the mat while thinking, oh hey I can use this piece... then yeah. Negative review time.

And word to the wise, when it come to most video game equipment, buy name brand. For instance, almost all MadCatz controllers are absolute crap. I don't trust their products *at all*. Whereas for the most part Logitech makes some pretty sturdy third party peripherals. But when given the choice between name brand (1st party) and off brand (3rd party), spend the extra few bucks. Buy new when you can and the if you have to purchase a pre-owned product, double check the sellers rating; usually the cheapest isn't always the best. But that is just based off of my experience. Despite it being gently used, definitely check the function of the pad. Working in a trade store, I've also found that people are more than happy to sell you their broken equipment under the guise of "it works great" and then come back with "well it worked just fine before." Test the dance pad thoroughly to make sure it's not defective in anyway once you get the dongle. Hopefully the only issue is the fact that it wasn't complete upon your purchasing it.
