New season, New thread!!!
This thread is to discuss the actual show each week/episodes.
I'm still watching on Hulu, so I will post my thoughts later.
I thought it was so funny when Christi said "If I were to give Abby a gift, it would be a 3 month subscription to Weight Watchers...the gift that keeps on giving." LOL 607 Replies to Dance Moms Season 2 |

That was my favorite line too! I wish they would let the girls personality shine more.. It just feel too scripted. It feels like forced drama. |

Hulu is not available outside of the USA, any suggestions as to how I might watch Dance Moms? We don't get it on our cable, either. |

@dancerama49 - watch it online. Go to Lifetime website. That's how I caught up with the episodes I missed last season. |

Did anyone else think kendal was awful?? I hate to sit here and hate on a child but I thought her technique and stage presence was seriously lacking in comparison to the rest of the girls-- she could barely hold her releve!!! |

I don't know about other countries, but the Lifetime website doesn't play in the UK. I had to watch the first season in a slightly naughty way |

Thanks for trying, trfrancis, but Lifetime will not allow the show to be aired in Canada also
Anybody else with a suggestion? |

Go to www.mylifetime.com . . .
That is where I watched the first episode and decided that I had enough. LOL |

The only other thing I can think of is to wait until someone uploads it on YouTube. It always happens, you just have to wait sometimes. |

I wasn't too impressed with Kendall. I don't have a strong dance background (cheer and gymnastics here), so my opinion may not mean much in that regard, but in comparison to the others- eh she looked out of place.
Every time I see Crazy Apple I just laugh and laugh lol. I'm not sure who is more out of place; Cathy and her Rotten Apples or Kendall and her over botoxed mom!
The costumes for the group number were very interesting! |

I was kind of surprised. Thought it wasn't that great. First of all why is candy apple back? She's extremely annoying.....and I didn't think the show was about her. Sheesh. Give it up already. Second yeah. Kendall was cute but not that strong. I didn't get to see her dance when they competed with us cause I missed the group and she didn't have a solo.
I thought the group number was a little bit sloppy, agree with Abby on that one. I mean, I know it won first......but I don't know what it was up against. I actually thought the costumes were kinda cool
Also, what's up with that Peyton? She totally can't dance with those girls. I feel like its someone too short auditioning to be a rockette, them saying no, and the mom freaking out! She wouldn't work wi that dynamic and that's that. Get over it.
The moms were really silly, as usual, but it's more eye rolling than anything else. |

Edited by Sumayah (204191) on 2012-01-17 18:56:23 Wow. No. Definitely not a word you can say on
Kendall wasn't that good, Peyton was a lovely dancer from what we saw but looked 16, Jill annoyed the pants out of me, and they need to stop with the ridiculously fake fights (calling your daughters' teacher a ****? REALLY?!?!?). Chloe's technique was gorgeous but the choreography was boring, and Maddie was lovely as usual. Finally, get OFF Holly's back for being a working mom. I'm sorry that a working, educated woman with a PhD can't be at a 3:30pm dance class. She can't tell her boss or clients that she's leaving early for a DAILY rehearsal. Goodness. |

^ Yeah. The "working mom" thing is really getting on my nerves too. Holly is an amazing role model for her daughter, and she must work extremely hard in order to afford a good education and dance classes for her daughter. And when Abby starts reaming her out for not being in their little plastic box upstairs for 4 hours a night (for no reason!), I just want to scream.
And I agree about Kendall. I'm sure she's a sweet, hard-working little girl, but her technique is not at the level of the rest of them. And Payton? Helloooo? Why would you want your daughter to dance with a bunch of little girls anyway? That mom is off her rocker. |

If you can't see the episode online yet, I posted a recap here: terryfinch.suite101.com . . .. I also included the ACTUAL results from DTI at the end, since they conveniently made some careful edits there (not in Kendal's favor). |

RE Holly. Did anyone else see the little snippets that the moms did on the Lifetime website showing off their house? For as much as Holly talks about her education, job and how much money she shells out, I couldn't believe how small and ummm average her house was compared to the other ladies (just take a look at their kitchen). Nothing wrong with that, just surprising.
Crazy Apple is hilarious, that is why she is going to be on the show this year. I think the moms look like they might be even more off their rocker this season. |

Probably because they sink so much money into dance (and other activities). That's how it was for me. My parents both worked extremely hard, and I took dozens upon dozens of dance lessons, so our house and cars were pretty modest. The sacrifices you make for dance! |

Yes!!! I totally expected Holly's house to be nothing short of a mansion and was utterly shocked when it wasn't even close! |

I looked into, once, Candy Apple's website. The kids look just as good as Abby's. Since I don't watch the show, I can't compare past the first show, but you KNOW, that they edit it to make their story, I am sure even the Holly/work situation. |

And since I have many school teacher friends, and family, a few who have held high positions, I can attest to that!!
I guess that means that the other mothers must have husbands with good salaries. |

I thought she worked at a private school and made over $100K a year? Boy I must have really misheard something on the show LOL!!! I guess I should also consider average median too. Where I live, the median income is around $35K and you can get a very nice house for $60-70K, so to people like us- $100K is living it up LOL. I'm sure some of you who live in areas where you can't get a cardboard box in the ghetto for under $100K probably think I'm crazy right now , but that is how it is here. |

Yeah that doesn't look like typical public school tuition to me!
postgazette.com . . .
It certainly was a revelation for Holly Hatcher-Frazier, director of the Lower School at the private Winchester Thurston School in Shadyside. Widely considered the voice of reason among the adults on Lifetime's hit program "Dance Moms," Ms. Hatcher-Frazier is a true rarity on television.
Ms. Hatcher-Frazier is generally apart from the fray, which is precisely what makes her stand out. Her background is far from reality-show typical: she was a Fulbright Scholar, a Williams College graduate and has degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pennsylvania.

So why is she on such a lame show?!! I don't get it. The other mothers are all air heads, and Abby, from what I saw on Anderson, does not seem like someone who could come close to Holly. Do they pay that well?
I was interested in finding out stuff about it, so was googling and found a few sites. I am sure, some are old, but hey, here are links, anyway. The first one made me laugh.

For all of my Canadian/European/Australian friends out there who can't access lifetime or hulu, check out tv links. Its basically just a host website that links to all the the different websites that have the episodes, including megavideo, videobb, etc. They usually don't get posted until a day or two after the original air date, but at least we can watch the episodes!
Just google: dance moms tv links, and then click the episode you want to watch, and there are usually 10-20+ links for every episode |
