This is not a debate, I am just wondering if you do, and why. I am not a fan, being a teacher and former studio owner. Thanks.

Me and my daughter DVR the show every week and watch it together... My daughter is 8 and currently training for her first lyrical solo for the up coming competition season. I find it a great learning experience for both of us. Obviously the show is somewhat reality but ridiculously edited! I know that if we had camaras following our studio around at competitions they could probably edit us to look a little crazy at times... So me and my daughter made a promise to tell each other if we are being a little crazy! LOL My daughter can be a bit of a perfectionist-DIVA at times so when she sees these other girls acting out and how it effects the others around her she can make a more conscious effort not to be like that. We have a little thing between us and if I see her starting to be a little out of line or disrespectful towards me or others I say "hey toddler and tiara whats your deal?" She laughs and rephrases her comments! Works great Other then that we watch Dance Moms for pure entertainment value!

Dislike. It should be about dance, not drama.

I like the show. But its really unrealistic and the fans are the WORST! Ugh!

I like how you handle it. Not many do, the kids just watch. I think, for current dance families, it's more of a "how not to act" or "look we are NOT like that" scenario.

But I fear, for those who know nothing and want to sign up their kids, that maybe they will be turned off.

Dislike. My son likes reality television, but he knows I hate seeing kids exploited and really really dislike what these shows promote and is borderline abusive to the kids (mostly from their parents.) Our deal is he can't watch this or Toddlers & Tiara nonsense with me in the house.

Exactly Dream Chaser! Even if it is fake, its a definate 'what not to do" or "how not to act".

Never seen it. I still dislike it.

I dislike it because when I tell people that I dance, people who don't know dance but know Dance Moms, assume that that's what I do.

I go so far out of my way to prove that I'm not a stage mom, that I don't even watch my sons classes. That, and he turns into the class clown when I watch. Hah!

My 8 year old daughter and I enjoy watching it together. My daughter thinks Abby is an awful mean person and she gets annoyed at all the parts except the dancing. She prefers to just watch the dancing parts only. When I crack down on my students, my daughter (who is usually playing her DSi, reading, or doing homework on the sidelines) likes to say "Mom, you sound like Abby" or "Mom, you sound like Jillian" (from The Biggest Loser) LOL.

I enjoy the show. My husband hates it. If he ever walks through the room and Abby is on the tv screen he starts swearing "I can't believe you watch that s***. That woman is nothing more but a fat a** f****** b****."

My husband said similar, when I watched the first one. I said not to worry, I will never watch that %^&*( again.

I enjoy watching it, but I take it for what it is. Scripted entertainment.
