So I want to fill in an application form, and it's in pdf format. I don't have software whereby I can edit pdfs and I don't have the cash to buy any before the application deadline. Is there something I can download for free, a free trial maybe, or is there any other way to do it? I really don't want to fill it in by hand..

There are a bunch of free online tools. But FYI - none of them are perfect. You can also try uploading to google docs with the "convert pdf text" box checked. Of course, all this assumes the pdf was created with text and not scanned image files. If that's the case, you'd need to use OCR, and that's an even bigger pain.

This website might work...I've only used it to convert Youtube videos to mp3, but it could be worth a try. Either upload what you want to convert or paste in the web address, then choose from the dropdown menu what format you want it converted to. Add the email you want it sent to, and a few minutes later they'll email you a link where you can download the new version.
