How do you breathe during a chest stand or an elbow stand? en>fr fr>en

I can do both of them with no issue. The problem is, if i try to hold it, i find that i am unable to breathe. My face gets all red and i end up having to go out of it. Not as much in an elbow stand, but in a chest stand i can only hold it for four to five seconds. What kind of breathing should i do and how can i prevent this?

You likely are not using the correct technique. Many do these and have the chin on the floor and the neck takes a lot of pressure. WRONG! If you cannot carry out a conversation with someone during these positions, you are not using the correct technique. Ian

Alright, then what is the correct technique? I definitely cannot carry on a conversation, so i must be doing something wrong. but what is it that i'm doing wrong and how do I fix it?

I never had a problem, so I am not sure why. Honestly, I would have to see, but maybe you can just ask your teacher or coach, because they can view it.
