Highland dancing in 1960s in Holland

I used to dance with this pipeband (well, later on that is), and I found this picture of the pipeband with their dancers. The picture is probably from the early 1960s, but nobody knew of the SOBHD back then so the outfits are still quite ancient. Still, it's a cute picture.
The pipeband and dancegroup still exist (Dutch Pipes and Drums), celebrating their 60th anniversary next year.

The outfits didn't start changing until the late 50s.

The one thing I really noticed is how short the pipers/drummers hose are!!! Crazy! But I do love this photo.

Actually, the outfits were made by local girls' schools, none of them were bought in Scotland. It took a while for them to get proper outfits (1970s) when they became an adult pipeband (they were juvenile only in the 1950s and 1960s because in this very catholic part of the Netherlands adult men absolutely could not wear skirts), and they bought the outfits of a Scottish band that had ceased to exist.
