Can you finish the double highcutting step with just one beat (vs a double beat highcut)?

Meaning the last time before the quick step you would do:
hop brush beat beat, highcut (double beat), highcut (single beat)

I've looked at the book, and it doesn't seem to clarify the finish at all.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain that you have to dance the last highcut-in-front as any other highcut-in-front, so using two beats. It's hard; you'll want to clap twice.

We just went to a workshop yesterday and was asking the judge who was running the workshop questions about finishing this step into the quick step. The word from her was:

you would finish the step with a double beat high-cut and then go straight into your first movement of the Quick step. She said one of the most difficult things about going from this step to the quickstep is -not- double clapping while you are double beating your highcut.

Thanks! It's funny because that's the main problem we've been running into is the double clap...I started to write that on my original email, but thought it was too confusing. Glad to hear it's not just us running into an issue with this!
