That is great that you have come back into dancing!! It's exciting to hear that you are loving ballet and modern! I'm sure you will be great in jazz once you start to get the hang of it as well! Just like any style of dance it may take a while just to get settled and your body used to the new movements. By taking ballet you are already helping because that will give you the basic foundation! Do you know exactly what you are having issues with in class so far? (Memorization, across the floor, arms, legs, stamina?) Jazz is usually to a more upbeat tempo and the movements are normally a little faster (but this really just depends on experience and teacher). One great thing to help is to continuously try to increase your stamina... lots of cardio, strength exercises... ect. And just like in any class stretch!!!

As far as the double pirouettes, don't loose confidence you can do it! Things to look out for: 1. Make sure you keep hold of your center and that your weight is evenly distributed in your prep. (Some teachers teach this differently but you may try to see if it works for you) 2. Nice first position arms as you are turning, remember which arm is your leader! (Right pirouette: left arm... Left pirouette: right arm) Bringing this arm straight into your other arm into first will help you get around. 3. Nice table top passe.. foot to knee, imagine you have glue on the inside of your shoe and it has no choice but to stick it there next to the knee in passe. 4. Spot!! Spotting will help you get around! 5. And lastly, make sure you are high on releve... From prep think straight up like you have a pole going out the top of your head and I'm pulling you right up by it! Keeping your heel on or close to the ground stops the turn or slows you down.

I hope this helps you and doesn't confuse you in any way! Best of luck to you!!!
