Teachers - Competitions Prop Help!!! en>fr fr>en By MissKatie3041 Comments: 9, member since Mon Dec 19, 2011On Thu Jan 19, 2012 12:52 PM
Hello everyone! I am very excited to be doing our first production number this year in competition. We're doing Fraggle Rock and would like to have basically two "backdrops" that we can paint and somehow attach to something on wheels to wheel out onto stage. This of course needs to be able to come apart and be able to transport to three regionals and nationals that is aout 6 hours away. I have seen many things like this at competitions befre but have never made one. Has anyone ever made one of these before? 5 Replies to Prop Help!!! |

I used to see a group at competition that rigged up some PVC pipes, and put wheels on them, and used them to wheel props on and off. They dismantled easily for transport. |

If you google "how to make a stage backdrop" several sites will pop up with directions on how to make one like this.
Also, please post a video of your dancers! I would love to see a Fraggle Rock dance |

Thank you everyone this definitely gives me somewhere to start. I had that general idea but just wasn't sure if the "good idea" would actually be physically possible to make and transport easily! I will definitely post some pictures when it is all done. Have any of you ever painted on fabric before? We made a giant "Where's Waldo" book one year with multiple pages out of large canvases. We were afraid that the paint of regular cotton fabric would bleed through and just be messy. Any other expertise in this area would also be greatly appreciated! |
