So I'm going to be an aesthetician and will be learning Brazilian waxing, and while I know I'll definitely have women clients and practice on women...I was unsure if I would have to practice waxing the men also? It would make sense because if I'm a fully licensed aesthetician I should be able to wax both, right? :)I can't find this information anywhere! I guess I could call the school and ask them, it's not that big of a deal though, I was just curious if any of you knew.

I have a cosmetology license, and I think I waxed two guys all the way through school. So, I'd guess that basically you need to be ready to do guys, but I wouldn't expect to do any. I'd recruit a guy to be a model, you'll need to know how to do it!

None of the girls at the spa where i work do any male below the waist waxing unless its a special request and even than not until one ok them agrees to do it. We even have one girl that wont do services on a male period. I highly doubt that you will be practicing onmales

I'm a working licensed esthetician in ca. I work in a "waxing salon". I never had to wax a man anywhere in school... I have done extensive Brazilian wax training since being licensed in 99. In all these years I have only taken one class where we practiced both men and woman brazillians. After I took that class I decided I was not going to add men's Brazilian to my list of services!! Luckily we don't have very many requests for this particular service... Maybe 1 every couple months and the other esthetician that I work with doesn't mind. Bottom line is if you are not comfortable performing a particular service then DON'T!!!

Hmm I'm not sure how I would feel! I know I'll do the women at least! I was talking to my SO about this and told him if I have to practice on a male that he has to be the one! I really don't know how he would feel about it, I mean he knows that it would just be part of the job but I guess we'll see once I get to that point. :)I guess you could kinda think of it like a dr's office? once you get used to seeing people nude everyday it's probably not that big of a deal.

Four years working in a spa and we have had maybe two or three serious requests for manzillions.

If he gets all jealous and possessive over you doing YOUR JOB, then there's alot to that relationship that you need to reconsider. Seriously, have you ever had a brazillian? They're so clinical and bizarre, that the very last thing that either you or the waxee will be thinking about will be sex. I got one right before my wedding, the lady spent the entire time talking to me about my kid. I'm getting my hair ripped out by the root and talking about my kid. I'm not thinking sex, trust.

One of our girls wont do any services on a male...whether dictated to her husbsnd or not i dunno. There is nothing sexy or sexual about waxing.

Oh, I'm not worried about it being sexual at all! My SO isn't the jealous type at all so it won't bother him, we had just been talking about it and then it got me wondering if I would actually have to wax guys or not is all, so I'm not worried about him having a problem with it, he's cool with it. And yes, I've had one before :)
