Music Search What's in the Secret Garden? en>fr fr>en By dancergal2 Comments: 99, member since Tue Mar 30, 2004On Wed Jan 25, 2012 06:20 PM
We are doing a junior ballet theme of "What's in the Secret Garden". We have 7 classes ranging in ages 3 - 9 years. Each class will need to be a different thing and have a different piece of music. So far I was thinking the 3 year olds could be fairies, another group could be flowers.... what else though?
My idea is to have 2 drama students be children who have gone exploring and they come across each group of ...(whatever the kids are).
Any character ideas or song suggestions?
Thanks! 3 Replies to What's in the Secret Garden? |

I don't have any song suggestions but here are some character ideas:
Fairies (you could do two kinds: Ones with large wings and flowy dresses, and more of a 'trickster-pixie' type wearing Unitards in pretty colors or with mismatched stripey clothes and no wings or really tiny wings can look cute.
Flowers (once again, you could have a few very different kinds with different 'feelings': dandelion puffs (hopeful, wishing), sunflowers (happy, bight), tulups (silly, bold), roses (elegant, romantic), etc.
Also:
Dragonflies
Bumble bees
Falling leaves
Frogs/turtles
Mushrooms
Ladybugs
Birds
Snails
Squirrels
Caterpillars
Hope that helps! |

Try using music from the musical Secret Garden.
If I Had A Fine White Horse
Come to My Garden
It's a Maze
The Girl I Mean to Be
these are my favorite pieces that you could use as ballet for young girls |

You could do a statue number, because I always picture statues in gardens.
Maybe the sun and clouds. |
