Do your toes shoot across your leg in the front or are they sticking out in the back? Just wondering. What I've found helpful that my teacher has told me is to think about holding a penny with your toes and that's kept my shedding tight. It's a good thing to get mastered though, it helps backsteps and highcuts and stuff too. I have this problem... Not as bad anymore but it is unfortunately stubborn.

Good luck in Intermediate! It's a really fun year!

sounds like you may need to adjust your ankle shape so your foot is striaght up and down rather than diagonally across your leg. I tell my girls to feel the side of their foot, then sole then opposite side of their foot in contact with the leg.

try pointing with your arch rather than your toes/foot
