Hi.
Is eating 410cals for breakfast too much for someone who is 5'1?
I did 45mins of cardio/strength before that,but I have a feeling it's too much.I ate 2packets of instant oatmeal (230cals) and then 1 atkins chocolate pb bar (180).
Please be honest and tell me how much I should be eating to maintain or lose a few.Thank you. 2 Replies to calorie count help, please? |

You SHOULD eat more calories at breakfast than any other meal of the day, and 400 calories is a realistic intake. The bigger question is what you do for the rest of the day, and how you spend your calories. It's not about restricting yourself to X mnay calories and no more, it's about making as many healthy choices as you can (Fruits/veggies/water/protein/carbs/manysmallmeals/healthysnacks). |

My doctor told me that someone my age (21) wanting to maintain weight who exercises should eat around 2200 calories a day (with the emphasis being on not to eat less than that, not on worrying about eating more). I think what is more important is that you get the necessary calories throughout the day rather than focusing on a meal being too much (unless the meal is like 1000 calories). |
