I think, as it is a begginers class they will not expect you to get there extra early to warm up of anything (they will probably instruct a warm up), 15 minuties seems a good bet, Goog luck and have fun! (:

I show up 10 to 15 minutes early. We need to check in at the front desk.
Then I sit in the hall and wait.
Other students do not show up early.

You will need 10-15 minutes to change. And then 15 minutes to figure things out, meet the teacher, etc. Once you get used to things, arriving 10-15 minutes beforehand is fine. But if this is your FIRST EVER ballet class, I stand by my recommendation that you arrive 30 minutes in advance.

Not trying to prove you wrong here, but I went to my first ballet class already fully dressed and prepared. And the teacher was teaching another class, so there wasn't exactly time to chit chat between classes. I agree that you should allow more time before your first class, but I don't think 30 minutes is necessary. I arrived about 20 minutes early and that was more than enough time, but then again, as mentioned above, I was already fully dressed and prepared; all I had to do was sign up at the front desk. I just think the less time you have to sit in the lobby or waiting area on your first day, the better. It can be intimidating when you're the "new kid" and every other dancer stares at you while going to and from classes.

Well I just got home from my class, it was amazing !!! I loved every min of it!
Thanks for the advice re: what time to get there, well in answer to what time I got there I cut it fine haha almost too fine but class hadn't started yet and teacher didn't mind :) I left my house about 30 mins before thinking it was only going to take me 15mins to get there but as I was biking I got a huge head wind and seemed to catch almost every red light! I mean come on haha, I was trying to be early bit it didn't work out that way.
Anyway I am definitely going back tomorrow for more! :D can't wait!
