Beauty Good hair thickening shampoo/conditioner? en>fr fr>en By HardestWorker Comments: 1065, member since Sun Apr 25, 2004On Sun Jan 29, 2012 09:40 AM
Hi all,
I'm just wondering what your recommendations are for a good thickening shampoo/conditioner. I take biotin supplements, and I'm using Avalon Biotin Thickening shampoo, but it's expensive and also I am a fan of alternating shampoos every once in a while, so I would like to have another option, preferably one that I can buy at like Target or a similar store.
Thanks in advance!:) 5 Replies to Good hair thickening shampoo/conditioner? |

I don't have any suggestions yet, but if you find something, please let share! I have baby-fine, super thin hair that I would love to thicken up!
I am going to try a new set of shampoo and conditioner by Suave that I've heard is supposed to be really good. If it is any good, I'll post here. |

I have really fine hair and have found that Fat Hair is quite good, check out their website www.fat-hair.com
I'm in Australia, but it looks like you can also buy online from their site.
As well as that, I also use PPS brand thickening mousse or root lifting spray. |

I have fine, thin, straight hair too. Just stick to products that say "extra body" or "volumizing" or "lightweight". Use VERY LITTLE conditioner, and whatever you do, stay away from anything that says "moisturizing". Absolutely no hot oil or deep conditioners. Conditioners weigh your hair down and make it look thinner. Detangling sprays are also great for thin/fine hair - especially once you start using less conditioner (which you should definitely do, IMO). |

I've been using New from Lush Handmade Cosmetics for about two months now and it is amazing! It's a solid shampoo bar which is so easy to use: just add water and lather up! Lasts 60-80 washes, the equivalent of three medium sized shampoo bottles!
It contains cinnamon (not overbearing smell though) which helps increase the blood flow to the scalp and promotes hair growth, as well as rosemary and nettle to soften hair and give it a nice shine. My hair feels so lovely and thick! 100% recommend this!

There are Lush shops all over the world, but if you can't find one near you, it is available to order online.
Hope this helps! |

Ok, I know this sounds weird, but hear me out
I tried garlic shampoo from Amazon which is designed for people with thinning hair/hair loss. You can get it un-scented and it smells just like a floral-soap scent. It's cheap too!
This is the one I got, but bear in mind that I live in the UK so just type in 'garlic shampoo' in your country's Amazon. I'm givivng you the link so you know which brand I used.

It really did make my hair feel thicker and more full + it stopped my extreme shedding DRAMATICLY!! I definetly recommend this. |
