First of all, I've had my ears pierced for over 4 years. I was at snow camp over the weekend, and cause I was afraid I would loose them, I left my earrings in for two days in a row. When I got home last night, I took them out, and my holes were green, sore, and oozing a little. My ears always turn green when I wear cheap earrings (got them at Claires), but I've worn this pair many times and have never had the pain or the oozing. I did put them in jewelery cleaning solution before I left for camp, do you think I had a bad reaction to that? I swabbed them with the ear cleaning solution that you get when you first get them pierced, but should I do anything else? And can I still wear earrings (sterling ones) while I have this problem? I almost always have them in, and I don't want my holes to close up.

Coat the posts or wires of a small pair of earrings with an antibiotic ointment and wear them. Coat the wires or posts two or three times a day. It should clear up in a few days.

Also, if you are going leave in earrings I would recommend only doing that with (real) gold.
