What type of flooring do you have in your waiting area, office and any other area throughout the dance studio? 5 Replies to Waiting Area |

We have polished cement throughout the whole common areas. In 2 of the dancerooms we have wood floor and the 3rd danceroom marley. Cement floor is easy to up keep and looks nice. Bad thing...slippery with taps when the parents carry them in so that they don't have to change shoes. |

Our lobby is tiled — like the hard, cement kind, not like laminate. The bathrooms and our back room are also tiled. |

Tile floor in the public walking areas and changerooms. Laminate floor in the office. This was the best combination I found in all the studios I worked in. Tile is easy to keep clean and the laminate in the office was a warmer floor in the winter months.
The worst was carpet in public walking areas and office. It looked terrible after a time and smelled musty, especially in wet weather. |

At one studio I work at the lobby has that flat carpet.
At the other studio, tile in the lobby and there is a rug. The hallways are concrete right now, but they are going to be wood. |

Aside from the bathrooms which are tile, the common area is all bamboo. Two studios are covered with marley, the third is red oak hardwood and is the designated tap room, the majority of hip hop classes are also in this room. |
