I have always worked at studios that charged by the amount of time a child was in class, however, I am finding that some charge by the number of classes a child takes. Can anyone offer advice on which way is better. Do you offer sibling discounts and do you have an unlimited class price? Thank you!

We used to charge by the class but it go confusing once we started adding lasses that ranged from 30 -90 mins. Now we charge by the total number of hours per family. From an office point it is much better and makes it easier to raise tuition!

I actually do both: For my recreational families, I charge by the class, & my discounts are 5% off the 2nd class per family, 10% off the 3rd class, 15% off the 4th, etc. The maximum discount on any class is 33%.

For my company families, the rec tuition would be cost-prohibitive, especially with all of the required classes they have to take for some of our groups. So, if any family member is a company dancer, the whole family's tuition is figured according to how many hours all family members dance per week. The more hours they dance, the less they pay per hour. It works well for us!

I do not offer unlimited tuition, as I vowed when I started to make $$ on every class I offer. Where I worked before owning my own place, there was unlimited tuition, & unfortunately, whenever we added cool new classes that attracted the unlimited kids, we ended up making no $$ on them because they were already maxed out on their tuition.

I charge by the month (10 yearly payments) with a smaller tuition for June. I tried to make it simple to figure out.
45 minute class = $40
60 minute class = $45
3 or more classes (no matter what length) = $40/month each, so a person or family taking 4 classes pays $160 (4 x $40)

We charge by amount of time. Per class wouldn't make sense for us with some classes being 45 min. and others being 1.5 hours. We max at 8 hours, $5 off each sibling.
