I was wondering how well developed Irish Dance is in Norway. What schools are there, what governing body they belong to (WIDA, CLRG etc). How about competitions?

My man and I are passively talking about moving to Norway, and I definitely want to keep competitive Irish Dance in my life (Currently I dance with CLRG). If I switched from CLRG to another org. would I have to serve a ban?

Also, you might want to have a look at the website of the nordic society of irish dancers - www.nsid.org - you will find quite a lot of general information about irish dance culture in Nordic countries - Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden.

Typically NSID is organising 1 feis per year in 1 of the nordic countries - but you would always be welcomed to feiseanna in Mainland Europe. We do offer higher age categories as usual (30+), which I find quite comfortable.
