--Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties 'cause it's cold out there today!
--It's cold out there every day. What is this, Miami Beach?
--Not hardly. And you know, you can expect hazardous travel later today with that, you know, that, uh, that blizzard thing.
--That blizzard... thing. That blizzard... thing. Oh, well, here's the report! The National Weather Service is calling for a "big blizzard thing!"
--Yes, they are. But you know, there's another reason why today is especially exciting.
--Especially cold!
--Especially cold, okay, but the big question on everybody's lips...
--On their chapped lips...
--On their chapped lips, right. Do you think Phil is gonna come out and see his shadow?
--Punxsutawney Phil!
--That's right, woodchuck-chuckers, it's...
GROUNDHOG DAY!
And just to make a meaningful discussion out of this... Has anybody actually been to a Groundhog Day celebration, with an actual groundhog? I think that would be kind of fun, albeit anticlimactic.
Punxsutawney Phil did see his shadow today, by the way, but I'm calling shenanigans, since it's already been in the 50s and 60s this week in the Midwest. 5 Replies to Okay, campers, rise and shine... |

If I don't get to see this movie today, I am going to be seriously annoyed with the TV hog who is hanging around my house!!
Haven't heard if our Southern groudhog has made his prediction. I'll be checking back soon!

I guess one of the towns near us has their own groundhog. He called for an early spring. |

As expected, I found out we have a spring prognosticating mammal all our own, however it is NOT a groundhog, lol. And good old, "Bob" calls for an early spring! Check this out! Makes me proud to be a Texan!

My son was born at sunrise on Groundhog Day several years ago.
I didn't pay much attention to it before then, but now it is one of my favorite days!
