Aboyne outfit for sale in Dress Purple MacRae. This was made by Highland Reel for my daughter and she wore it from the age of 8 until she was about 12 years old. It is in immaculate condition, hardly worn (only concert, exams and very few comps). The original waistcoat was sold separately so this is a brand new waistcoat to keep the outfit complete. The skirt is fully gathered and smocked, fastening with a zip and hook/bar. There are no marks or pin damage on any items.
Skirt waist is 23½-25½", with length 18½" (+5½" hem).
Waistcoat will fit chest 25-28" and has a back length (nape to waist) of 13¼".
Skirt and plaid are 100% wool and waistcoat 100% cotton.
From a pet-free and smoke-free home.
The whole outfit is 'as new' - one careful owner!
£220 plus postage.
Located in Scotand, but am happy to post worldwide!

Hi annie66 - I have sent you emails but no response - am wondering if that is your work email contact? Can you please confirm whether or not you wish to proceed with this purchase as there have been other enquiries. Many thanks. |

Hello. This is lovely. My dancer is going through a purple - liking phase at the moment! is the plaid a big "hanky-fold" one? (sorry - I'm unsure of the correct terminology) She likes this style better, too.
Thank you |

Thank you littleflora. This is a rectangular plaid which attaches to the back of the skirt, then it is folded to form a triangle across the back with the fringe down the edge. We call it the 'Aboyne plaid', not only as it is part of the Aboyne outfit but, because this is the correct method of wearing the plaid as demonstrated at the Aboyne Highland Games, from where the outfit originates. It would be such an insult to go there and not wear the outfit correctly! |
