It is official: Obraztosva is now a principal with the Bolshoi! There have been so many dancers moving house in the last year or so, but, wow, I didn't see this coming!
I feel a little mournful because Yevgenia is one of favourite dancers, and I always thought of her as having a very beautiful 'Mariinsky', pure style - the Bolshoi style is a little more flamboyant - and I wished she could have stayed and become the diamond in the Mariinsky's crown.
But hopefully she will be very happy, and we might see her as Nikiya, or Clara / Marsha now?!
I may say so, it serves the Mariinsky management right for not appreciating her talents - she was stuck as a first soloist and didn't dance very often there.

Thanks for the news, and for that wonderful youtube of her Juliet. I was almost in tears during the little clip from the crypt scene, with her "cry" when she found Romeo dead. Just amazing!

I'm growing a little more annoyed with the Mariinsky; it seems that they put more emphasis on crazy extensions and straight up athleticism (Alina Somova anyone?) than artistry. I miss the Margot Fonteyns of the world!

Anyway, she is beautiful, and her expression is out of this world.

I actually saw this yesterday on FB ... I think! Pretty sure.

Surprise and I wish her well. She really is a talent that deserves to be seen.

I absolutely agree with you!! She should of been promoted to principal with the Mariinsky ages ago!!! Now I hope we will be seeing much more of her!!!
