The Positively Positive Thread (karma: 1)  en>fr fr>en

Sometimes we all just need a hug and an ego boost. You can post anything, but you have to say at least one good thing about the person above you; given the nature of the beast that is DDN, I'd recommend being vague on the why and how you're feeling down or gloomy. This is a place to get a little love, maybe a slice of chocolate cake, and a boost to your spirit. If you have issues that require discussion, post them in a separate thread. :) Spread the love!

Josiane always seems to pop up out of the blue with a hilarious comment! She doesn't post as often as some but when she does, she's got something useful to say.

R*E*N*A*E I can always call her when I am in trouble and she has such a caring heart. Who do I go to for...
Dieting/workout tips? Renae
Boy problems? Renae
Family Problems? Renae
Feeling down and gloomy? Renae

Totally an awesome person to know. She hasn't posted a salute, but she has freaking gorgeous eyes!

YYD always has an interesting point of view and spin on situations that I would never have considered and brings a different facet to conversations. You always go out of your way to accommodate people in your real life, even at the risk of inconveniencing yourself, and you've got some killer legs!

I think I'm sick. I thought this was just allergies but I think I have a full on cold. Pretty sure I'm running a low grade fever, can't get warm, my head feels like it's made of concrete with a belt gradually getting tighter and tighter around my forehead til the top of my head splits off. And I've got a bit of a cough - you know just enough to make you miserable and tear your throat up, but not like a cough cough. Oh and I'm at work. Dayquil and Halls for the win? Anyone want to bring me some hot tea?

Sumayah: You have been through childhood illness hell and have emerged with a very intact sense of humor, a snazzy outlook on life and mad gaming skillz.

Sumayah-If I start walking now, I'll be there next week. ;)

Nienna always keeps trying. I know you've had some hard times, but you never give up hope that things will get better. I admire that a lot about you.

I've often wished I could fix up one of my sons with Majery. She is such a class act!

(aside...if your boyfriend doesn't work out, I still have a cute blonde boy in mind...)

Christine, your posts always give me warm fuzzies. You always keep such a cool head and kind heart when you post - sometimes I wish I had a bit of that posting etiquette, LOL. Basically, whenever I see your name, I know it will be a well-constructed, compassionate response. Always.

Christine-you had such wise words of comfort on my post about my mom's death.

Renae-always wise advice on the ballet and advice forums here.

If I may, I'd also like to include Panic. His posts almost always guarantee a laugh.

Caulfield - you don't post nearly as much as I'd like you to (I like reading your responses). Also you have pretty eyes. Not that I'm a creeper or anything, just you know... pretty eyes? o.O /awkward gonna shut up now

Coccinella - You've got gorgeous legs and feet and I'm highly jealous. I'm also inspired by your passion for ballet. When you post on the ballet boards I always want to see what you have to say.

In other news I'm feeling better, still got the cough, but otherwise doing all right.

Because I can't pass by the opportunity to make this thread self-referential, here goes: Sumayah always tries to avoid making anyone feel bad (even when she disagrees with them), and makes very kind posts like this one!

I enjoy reading d4j's posts because she provides a mother's perspective in a way that's not condescending to the younger generation. Christine always has very solid, practical advice combined with compassion for all parties involved. Celebrian always makes time to provide caring advice to struggling DDN members, even though she has so much on her own plate. Imadanseur's advice is always logical. Maureensiobhan is a very strong person, and I admire her very precise, solid grasp of ballet technique. Louise and YumYumDoughnut both make very compelling arguments, and I can appreciate their viewpoints even if I don't always agree with them. Majere is inspirational for fighting to make her dreams of a dance career come true. I agree with Louise that Josiane rarely makes vacuous comments, and with Sumayah that Caulfield has interesting stuff to say and should post more! PinUpGirl is always willing to share difficult experiences she's been through in order to help others. And Nienna's posts are always full of kindness.

I suppose the above paragraph only goes to show that I lurk here much more often than I post.

PinUpGirl is honest, courageous and generous. She works hard to improve her own life and shares her experiences to help others on DDN when they are struggling.
