...Ijust don't want this post associated with my username. I posted about this on my facebook, so please don't reveal my identity if you know who I am.
One of my best friends from high school was killed in a boating accident a couple weeks ago and his body was lost at sea ( www.sfgate.com . . .). An acquaintance, also on the same boat, was also killed. There was a male body discovered today off the coast, but the autopsy isn't scheduled until tomorrow so I don't know whether it's my friend or not ( www.sfgate.com . . .). We hadn't talked much since high school, but I still cared for him a ton, and we caught up occasionally.
This may sound morbid, but I need songs about death. I need to cry, I want to cry, but I can't - at least not to the extent that I want to, and music triggers something in me... Maybe songs about death will help me cope, because right now all I am is numb and in denial. If it's his body they found, I need to be more prepared than I am now.
I miss him so much. He didn't deserve to die. He was a wonderful, friendly, funny guy, who always knew how to make me smile. 20 Replies to This will sound morbid... but I need songs about death |

One of the most comforting songs I've heard when dealing with loved ones passing is "Hear You Me" by Jimmy Eat World. It's not really about death, but it's about remembering someone in a beautiful way.

That song got me through my grandmother's death. Thank you for reminding me of it. It's... beautiful, to say the least. xo |

"If" by Butch Walker. He wrote it about his wife's mom dying from cancer. It's a beautiful song & one of my favorites. |

Don't You Cry by Kamelot. This song was written by the Guitarist when his father passed away. Such a beautiful song.
