My new goal in life is to be the oldest competing highland dancer. Any idea who is currently the oldest?

We have seen a gentleman who is in his late 50's or 60's.

Are these people currently competing? It is one thing to dance but my goal is to keep competing at games.

Yes, at least in the case of our gentleman, he competes. His latest competition was 2 weeks ago.

I love your goal! As an older dancer who is still competing I love seeing anyone who is determined to keep this from becoming something 'only for little ones'.

keep on dancing!

I have a dancer who is 52 and only has one or two stamps left to go on his Novice card. He takes classes with a Premier dancer (who is training for Championships). That really keeps him on his toes!

Looks like I will have to hang in there awhile, I'm ONLY 42. One more stamp and I will be a novice-fingers crossed for tomorrow's competition.

Best of luck tomorrow for that last stamp.

I too, hope to continue competing. I've just entered Novice myself.

Here's to the "And Overs" ;)

Congratulations Skyesbridge! I thought you said you were going to wait for me! I have 2 stamps to go before Novice, but I haven't competed in over 2 years. I'm almost 46.

I'm 38, and starting intermediates in the autumn, and hoping to do a championship before I'm 40. I'm excited and scared at the same time, I'm not looking for placings but just to take part would be such an achievement and experience.

Sorry Jenn K, it just sorta happened. Novice to me, is like starting all over again... so when you get here, I'm sure I'll still be here too. :)
