DancingDiva736's Bio

A late bloomer, I didn't begin dancing until I was 9, but I knew right away that it would turn into a passion that I would hold on to forever. I began dancing competitively in my third year, and continued competing for the next 10 years. My personal favorite, and best,was always tap, but I also took jazz, hip hop, lyrical, ballet, pointe and tried a little gymnastics, modern and swing. I started assisting while still in high school, stopped for a few years, and began teaching on my own while in college. I've been teaching now for about 5 years. I currently teach tap, jazz and hip hop with students age 3 and up. I never really thought of myself as an extremely talented dancer, but I think it was my love for the art of dancing that made me appear to be a little better than I was. I had better stage presence than technique, but I managed to get by. I teach at night, and work a full time business job during the day. I truly believe that dance is a part of my soul, and something that kept me on the right track in my life. I love being a member of DDN to share my experience and my love for dance with other teachers-its been a great learning experience and I look forward to learning more everyday.
